No Pay Jump for Plante

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Santiago Plante
Santiago Plante

Santiago Plante raised to 25,000 from the hijack, before Daniel Zack on his direct left potted it. Mesbah Guerfi called all in for 36,000 from the big blind, and Plante called also.

On a flop of 9K5 Plante then bet out for 217,000, leaving just a single 1,000 chip behind, as two more eliminations meant a pay jump. Zack put him all in, and he made the call quickly.

Mesbah Guerfi: 644Xx All in
Santiago Plante: KQJ10 All in
Daniel Zack: AAJ9

Santiago Plante had an incredible amount of outs to scoop both pots on the 8 turn, as he had multiple straight draws as well as a flush draw, and two pair outs. However, the 2 kept Guerfi's straight with the best of it, while Zack's aces held on the side.

Seiver Doubles With a Flush

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Scott Seiver
Scott Seiver

Alan Mehamed made it 28,000 to go from the cutoff with Scott Seiver calling on the button. Alfred Karlsson squeezed it to 118,000 from the big blind, which Mehamed and Seiver called.

Karlsson started with a check on the 379 flop, and Mehamed bet 100,000. Seiver immediately jammed for 139,000, which only got called by Mehamed.

Scott Seiver: 10966 All in
Alan Mehamed: AQQJ

Mehamed had a pair of queens, while Seiver held top pair, a straight draw, and a flush draw. The 7 on the turn was great for Mehamed, but the 8 river gave Seiver the best hand with a flush, earning him the double-up.

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Tarun Goyal was all in and at risk under the gun, with a stack totalling 380,000. Brad Albrinck was right there with him in the cutoff, with a covering stack, as the board read 736J5.

Albrinck showed Q975 for two pair, but Goyal had turned the nuts with AAJ10 to earn a huge double up at this stage of the tournament

Zamani Makes the Wrong Call to Bust

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Martin Zamani
Martin Zamani

On a completed board of AJ3JQ and with around 300,000 in the middle, Zachary Schwartz jammed from the small blind to put Martin Zamani all in. Zamani, who was sitting in the big blind, had just under 300,000 remaining in this stack and went into the tank for quite some time, deliberating what to do. In the end, Zamani called.

Schwartz revealed a full house with AAK10, and Zamani couldn't beat it with AQ76 for top two pair. Zamani was out, while Schwartz increased his stack to around 2,800,000.

Big blind Dermot Blain put out a pot-sized bet of 75,000 on a flop of 54J. Not leaving much behind, Richard Gryko put him all in from the button, and he made the call.

Dermot Blain: A752 All in
Richard Gryko: QQ108

Gryko's queens held on the K10 runout to continue adding to his mammoth chip stack.

The Recent Eliminations

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Li One Heart Off

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Pei Li found himself all in and at risk for his final 39,000 preflop from the big blind. Scott Seiver on the button and Emmanuel Derecho in the big blind both paid to see a flop, also. Derecho check-raised to 75,000 on a flop of 949 following a 25,000 bet from Seiver. He then continued for 100,000 on the 4 turn, and Seiver called again. Both checked down the 7 river.

To sort out the side pot, Derecho showed KQ104, which was no good against Seiver's KKQ10. "Nut flush," announced Li, showing the A. However his other three cards weren't enough to save him, as he tabled KQ6 before leaving.
