David Oppenheim made it three bets preflop and earned no fewer than four callers including Alexander Kostritsyn, Chad Eveslage, Brian Yoon and Qiang Xu. On the Q♦J♠4♥ flop, Oppenheim bet 4,000 with 4,000 behind and Kostritsyn raised. Eveslage made it three bets for Yoon to call, Xu folded and Kostritsyn called.
The 10♣ turn saw Kostritsyn bet and Eveslage came along whereas Yoon folded.
Kostritsyn bet again the 9♥ river for Eveslage to call and he then showed his A♥K♥J♥5♦ for broadway. Eveslage mucked the K♣Q♠J♣10♥ and the A♠J♦6♦3♠ of Oppenheim were no good either.
"If one of you guys here won it, I play you heads-up for first place prize. The offer stands," Oppenheim said before heading out of the tournament area.
On a flop of 8♠7♦4♣, Jeff Madsen raised against Bryce Yockey and was called as they headed to the 3♦ on the turn. Yockey check-raised Madsen's bet and Madsen came along for Yockey to then bet the A♣ river.
Madsen called the final bet and was shown the A♥J♣6♠5♣ for the eight-high straight and seven-low. He studied the board carefully and exposed his A♦K♦7♠2♠ which earned no portion of the pot.
Chris Hunichen: XxXx / 9♥3♠8♦ - folded on fifth street
Roy Thung: XxXx / K♣Q♦9♣8♥ / Xx - folded on seventh street
Maksim Pisarenko: XxXx / A♦6♠9♦K♦ / Xx
Hunichen completed, Thung raised, Pisarenko made it three bets, and both opponents called.
Pisarenko led on fourth with both sticking around to fifth as Pisarenko bet again and only Thung called.
Pisarenko would lead again on sixth and seventh as Thung called on sixth but folded on seventh after a long tank, and Pisarenko dragged a big one without showdown.
Ryan Hoenig raised from under the gun and was called four ways by Biao Ding, Clayton Mozdzen, John Hennigan and Ben Yu. On the 10♣9♠8♠ flop, Hennigan checked and Yu in the big blind bet. All four opponents behind called and headed to the 8♥ on the turn. Hennigan checked again, Yu bet and earned three calls to the 7♦ on the river.
Yu bet once more and Hoenig folded.
"There is no low?" Ding asked Hoenig, who replied back "I can't tell you". The call by Ding followed and Mozdzen folded for Yu to reveal the Q♣Q♠J♠J♥ for the flopped queen-high straight.
Ding revealed his A♥10♠8♣2♠ for eights full of tens and would have had the nut low as well if there had been one.
Brian Yoon: XxXx / Q♥6♣Q♦7♦ / Xx
Qiang Xu: XxXx / A♣10♦K♠A♠ / Xx
Yoon completed, Xu raised, and Yoon called. Xu led on fourth and Yoon called.
Yoon then led fifth after making open queens and Xu called.
Xu then made open aces on sixth and led. He led for a final time on seventh and Yoon called after a small tank. Xu revealed the K♣ for two pair, aces and kings, which were no good as Yoon tabled A♥Q♠4♥ in the hole for trip queens as he dragged another pot.
Andrew Yeh completed and defending champion Xixiang Luo raised to see all other players behind fold, while Yeh called with kings in the hole. Luo made open eights on fourth street to gain some equity while sixth street then gave both players two pair with Luo ahead. Nothing changed on seventh and Luo survived for the time being, albeit still with a severe short stack.
Xixiang Luo: K♦10♣ / 7♣5♠5♦A♠ / Xx
Brian Breck: 5♣4♣ / 2♠6♦8♣Q♠ / Xx
Luo completed and Breck called from the bring-in.
Luo led on fourth and fifth with Breck calling twice. On sixth, Luo led all-in for 2,000 and Breck called. Luo was ahead with his pair of fives against the double-gutter of Breck, who caught the 5♥ on the end to make fives with a queen kicker, and Luo's ace kicker was enough for the double.
