Mesika Denied the Double

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Matan Mesika

Action folded to Sasha Liu who was in the small blind, and she raised to cover Matan Mesika's remaining 24,500 stack. Mesika made a quick call and the pair tabled their hands.

Matan Mesika: A8All in
Sasha Liu: A2

Mesika was ahead, and things stayed that way on the KK5 flop. The Q turn didn't change much either as Mesika's eight still played, but the A river sent the pair to a chop, denying Mesika some value.
