Long Tank, Wrong Decision

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Darren Kennedy opened to 5,500 in the cutoff and faced a three-bet to 18,000 from Jarod Ludemann in the small blind, which he called.

Both the Q2K flop and the Q turn checked through before Ludemann bet 25,000 on the 8 river.

Kennedy went deep into the tank, taking several minutes and still seemed no closer to a decision. After trying to pick up any kind of read he could, Kennedy flicked in a chip to call.

Ludemann revealed his AA, and a frustrated Kennedy mucked his cards.

New Chip Leader?

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Action was picked up on the flop of an inflated pot, with around 120,000 in the middle. Small blind Duan Wendong checked over to late position Daan Mulders, who placed 25,000 into the middle on the 662 flop. Wendong put in the call.

The turn was the 7 and Mulders didn't slow down when checked to. He fired out 50,000, and Wendong called again. He then checked for a third time on the 7 and Mulders chucked a stack of green 25,000 chips in, to put his opponent to a decision for his tournament life.

Wendong went deep into the tank, taking some three minutes. After mulling over his decision, he finally released his cards to the dealer.

"New chip leader?" asked Mulders compatriot Michael Hutting, also at the table. Unfortunately for Mulders, Felix Kuemayr might have something to say about that.

A couple of hands later, Joel Vazquez limped in from the small blind, but folded when Simao raised to 10,000 in the big blind.

Nebbout Sends Out Hurin

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Illia Hurin opened to 5,000 from middle position before Jonathan Nebbout made it 13,000 from the hijack. Wooram Cho came along with a cold call from the big blind.

Hurin wanted to play for it all, and shoved for 40,500 total. Nebbout made the call. Cho gave it some thought, but decided against continuing and made the fold and sent Hurin and Nebbout to a showdown with Hurin at risk.

Jonathan Nebbout: AJ

Hurin was the beneficiary of a healthy lead as he needed to fade the ace, but the flop was bad news for Hurin as it fanned out 6A7 to give Nebbout a pair of aces.

The 8 turn gave Hurin some hope as he improved to a flush draw,

Instead, another ace appeared on the river when the dealer peeled the A to improve Nebbout to trips and eliminate Hurin from contention.
