Barber Gets (Almost) Max Value

Level 24

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Andrew Barber opened under the gun to 40,000, leaving just a single 5,000 value chip behind. Kevin Choi called from the cutoff, and Michael Banducci defended his big blind.

Action checked through on both the flop and the turn, leaving the board to read 543Q3. Banducci checked for a third time, and Barber led out for his final 5,000. Choi reluctantly called, and Banducci pondered a while before finding the fold, despite the price.

Barber's flopped wheel with A1032 was enough to beat Choi's A1075. A tablemate joked that if Barber hadn't slow-played, he would've got Banducci's 5,000, too, and Banducci agreed. "If you just think about it for five minutes, you'll realize why I did that," retorted Barber.
