Give the Guy Another Chance

Level 6 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Ryuta Nakai opened to 12,000 on the button and promptly faced a three-bet as Chance Kornuth moved all in for 76,000 in the small blind. Turbo Nguyen then four-bet shoved from the big blind for 189,500, which forced Nakai out of the hand.

Chance Kornuth: A6
Turbo Nguyen: AK

Kornuth picked up some chop outs on the 31010 flop, but it was all over on the K turn.

The 9 completed the board, and Kornuth was eliminated, for that bullet at least. He rejoined the tournament immediately and sat down at another table with a fresh stack.

Each player received six time bank cards at the start of play today, and Mateos burned his last two before ultimately folding.

Pan Flips Best

Level 6 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Ryuta Nakai opened to 12,000 in middle position and found himself facing a three-bet to 48,000 from Qinghai Pan in the small blind. Nakai responded with a four-bet jam, having Pan's stack of 162,500 covered. Pan took a moment before flicking in a chip to call.

Qinghai Pan: AK All in
Ryuta Nakai: QQ

The deck favoured Pan on this occasion, as the 9A8 flop saw him harness the lead.

There was no reversal in fortunes for Nakai, as the 2 turn and 4 river completed the board.

Berg Wins at Showdown

Level 5 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

David McGowan opened to 8,000 on the button, which both Elijah Berg and Daniel Rezaei called from the small and big blind.

Given the opportunity, McGowan continued for 9,000 on the Q2K flop, which Berg called before Rezaei folded.

That was the last action the hand would see, as both the 9 turn and the 3 river checked through.

Berg tabled Q10 to claim the pot, and McGowan mucked his hand.

Three Bets on the Flop

Level 5 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Chris Nguyen opened to 8,000 from early position, and only Aleks Ponakovs called, defending his big blind.

The dealer spread a monotone K72 flop, which saw plenty of betting. After Ponakovs checked, Nguyen continued for 4,000. Ponakovs then raised to 11,000, before calling when Nguyen three-bet to 27,000.

Ponakovs check-called a bet of 24,000 when the 5 added a fourth spade to the board, before both players checked on the 3 river.

Ponakovs tabled J9 for a jack-high flush, which was confirmed as the winning hand when Nguyen mucked his cards.
