Peter Mugar opened to 180,000 from the cutoff, which only Ivan Ruban called in the big blind.
Both players checked on the Q♠9♦8♦ flop, which gave Ruban the green light to take over the betting lead on the 5♦ turn. He put 325,000 into the middle, which Mugar called.
The river brought a fourth diamond, as the 4♦ completed the board. Ruban opted to check, and found himself facing a bet of 450,0000. After taking some time to study the board, he returned his cards to the dealer, who then pushed the pot in the direction of Mugar.
