Weis Pressures the Table
Level 6
: Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Mack Lee opened to 4,000 from under the gun, and Ricardo Alvarado called from early position. Anatoly Zlotnikov also called on the button, and Oliver Weis three-bet to 22,000. All players topped up to call, and Zlotnikov remarked: "If there's no ace on the flop, you can muck your hand, bro."
The four players saw the 4♠Q♣K♦ flop, and Weis bet out pot for 86,000. He saw a sea of folds and picked up the pot.
Weis said, "There was no ace on the flop."
Alvarado responded, "I needed a jack," and flashed his hand, which had J♣J♠3x9x in it.
Weis confirmed, "Jack no good," as he slid his cards into the muck.
