Matakis Gives It Up
Level 15
: Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
With 130,000 in the pot, Ian Matakis checked from the cutoff on a K♣9♦10♦6♥ board. Levon Khachatryan bet 50,000 on the button, and Matakis check-raised to 280,000, which Khachatryan called.
The 10♣ completed the board, and Matakis thought long and hard on how to proceed, ultimately choosing to check. Khachatryan checked behind and tabled the winning hand with his 9♠8♠7♣5♦ for a straight after Matakis revealed his K♦J♥J♦8♣.
