Richard Gryko raised to 350,000 in the hijack, and Ian Matakis three-bet to 1,200,000 in the cutoff. The action folded back to Gryko, who called.

Gryko checked over to Matakis on a 7♣4♣5♣ flop, who bet 250,000. Gryko responded with a check-raise all in for 1,300,000, and Matakis beat him into the pot with a call.

Matakis had flopped the ace-high flush and looked set to eliminate Gryko, but the deck had other ideas. The 4♦ turn improved Gryko to a full house, with the A♥ river giving him an even better boat.

Once Matakis paid the double-up, he was left with just a couple of big blinds.
