Stud Games: 10,000 Ante, 10,000 Bring-In, 30,000 Completion, 30,000-60,000 Limits
As the doors opened today at the Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas, the registration period of Event #54: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) came to a close, with a grand total of 189 players making their way into the field. This generated a prize pool of $1,757,700 that only 29 of the players would see a piece of. At the day’s end, just 11 survived with the chance to take home the first-place prize of $413,580.
Less than 24 hours prior to this event beginning, Calvin Anderson added a sixth WSOP bracelet to his already stacked resume. Now, as the day closes in another $10k championship, he once again sits with the chip lead and is closing in on another final table. Anderson ascended the counts late in the night, taking down many big pots with several coming in Razz (his most recent bracelet win). Twelve years ago, he finished eighth in this event for $50,966, and Anderson looks to improve on that finish and cement his name in WSOP history.
A star-studded field of players returns tomorrow. Two-time WSOP bracelet winner Chris Brewer (1,515,000) bagged up a sizable stack, looking to add a third bracelet and third game type to his burgeoning WSOP resume. Former $10k H.O.R.S.E. Championship winner David Bach (905,000) is looking to win this particular championship a second time. Seven-time WSOP bracelet winner Josh Arieh (745,000) and a pair of five-time WSOP bracelet winners Robert Mizrachi (640,000) and Brian Yoon (550,000) are also looking to add another prestigious title to their already decorated resumes.

Day 2 Action
A flurry of late entrants joined yesterday's survivors, with many falling short of the money. Bigger stacks from the beginning of the day like Jesse Lonis, Scott Seiver, Lawrence Brandt, and Patrick Leonard, joined the rail with people who fired today like Chino Rheem, Gus Hansen, Andrew Brown, and defending champion Kristopher Tong.
Players would have their dinner break before the bubble would burst and as it all came to pass, 4-time WSOP bracelet winner Ben Yu became the bubble boy when his low draw and flush draw bricked against Chris Brewer’s aces. His elimination ensured the final 29 players would all see a piece of the pie.
Big names continued to fall even as the night went on with players like Brian Rast (25th-$20,210), yesterday’s $2.5k Freezout champion Marco Johnson (22nd-$20,210), Jason Daly (19th-$21,220), and Allen Kessler (16th-$21,220) all fell. The last elimination of the night would be Maksim Pisarenko (12th-$24,240), who fell as Anderson ascended up the counts late.
The players played 10 levels today and will return to play tomorrow at 1:00 pm in Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas. Levels will be upped to 90 minutes, and antes will start at 10,000 with a 10,000 bring-in and limits at 40,000/80,000. Blinds will be 20,000/40,000 with limits at 40,000/80,000.
That will conclude today’s coverage of the 2026 WSOP. Be sure to check back in to PokerNews tomorrow for continued updates on the ground at the Paris Hotel and Casino.
