Vaughn Chips Up, Smith Dangerously Short as Bubble Nears

Evan Sandberg raised in the hijack, Jeffrey Vaughn three-bet from the small blind, and Christopher Smith called cold in the big blind. Sandberg also came along, after which the drawing action went one, two, one.

It checked to Sandberg after the first draw, and he bet. Each of his opponents took one card on the second draw, with Sandberg remaining pat behind.

The same betting action took place after the draw, after which the same number of cards were drawn as well. It then checked to showdown, where Vaughn claimed the win with 8x6x5x4x2x.

"If you play like that on the bubble, you deserve the win," Sandberg laughed as the pot was shipped to Vaughn.

Canadian Tara Dunn opened from the cutoff, and compatriot Frederic Moss made it three-bets on the button. Dunn called and drew two, with Moss staying pat.

Dunn then check-called a bet and drew one on the second draw. Yet again, Moss stood pat, and Dunn check-called his bet.

She drew one again, and Moss stood pat for a third time. Action checked through, and Dunn let her opponent know "[she] got it. Good check back." She tabled 8x6x5x4x2x and Moss mucked.

Engel Bluffs Out Turner

Catching up on the second draw, Ari Engel stood pat and Jon Turner drew two. Turner then called a bet from Engel.

On the third draw, Engel remained pat and Turner shook calling chips in his palms before placing them into the middle.

"I'm rolling the dice on that one!" Turner said.

Engel bet a final time on the end and Turner let his hand go. Engel showed 7x7x6x5x5x as he collected the pot.

"I paired my six on the end," Turner said. "I thought about calling..."

Neugebauer Takes One Down

Max Neugebauer opened from middle position, with both Devon Sampson and David Lim defending their blinds.

Sampson drew one, Lim took three and Neugebauer opted on two. Action checked to the raiser, and his bet was called by Sampson only.

Sampson drew one again, and Neugebauer stood pat. He bet again when checked to, and Sampson though for a while before folding.

Both players drew twon on the first draw and then Fujimoto called a bet from Prociak.

On the second draw, both players reduced their draw to one and Prociak bet. Fujimoto responded with a raise and Prociak called.

On the final draw, both players stood pat and action checked down.

Prociak showed 8x7x6x3x2x, but it was no good against Fujimoto's 8x7x5x4x3x.

Volodymyr Kondratenko raised under the gun, with both Anthony Lamps and Scott Fitzhugh opting to defend the small and big blind respectively.

Both blinds drew one, and Kondratenko drew two before action checked through. On the second draw, the players each drew the same number of cards, and Lamps bet out into his opponents. Fitzhugh folded, but Kondratenko thought for a while before calling.

John Cressend raised from the hijack and Dennis Weiss defended his big blind.

Weiss drew one and Cressend drew two on the first draw. Both players then checked.

On the second draw, both players drew one and Weiss check-called a bet from Cressend.

Neither player drew on the end and action checked down.

"Nine-seven," Cressend said as he fanned out 9x7x6x5x2x. Weiss flashed a 9x and mucked — condeding the pot to Cressend.

Prather Wins Big Without a Showdown

John Prather raised from under the gun and was called by Dave Stann in the small blind. Michael Lang made it three bets to go in the big blind and both Prather and Stann called.

Stann drew two, Lang drew one, and Prather drew two on the first draw. Prather and Stann then called a bet from Lang.

On the second draw, Stann drew one, Lang stood pat and Prather drew two again. Stann checked to Lang, who put in another bet. Prather raised, which got a fold from Stann and a call from Lang.

Lang broke and drew one on the final draw while Prather stood pat. Lang then check-folded facing a bet from Prather, who was sent a nice pot without a showdown.

"Wheel?" Lang asked.

"Wheel!" Prather confirmed.

Young Pulls an Eight

Action was picked up after the first draw, with small blind Max Neugebauer betting into Liz Young, who made the call on the button.

Both players drew one on the second draw, and Young called another bet from Neugebauer, who then stood pat. Young pulled one yet again, then bet out when Neugebauer checked.

Neugebauer took some time before flicking in the call, and saw the bad news as Young tabled 8x6x4x3x2x which scooped the pot.
