Ramirez Bests Abade

Both players checked the 2J6 flop to bring the 4 turn. Abade took the initiative with a bet of 1,000. Ramirez called.

The 8 river led to a bet of 1,400 from Abade. Ramirez called, and Abade showed A6 for a pair of sixes.

It was no good as Ramirez revealed that the river helped her when she tabled A8 for a rivered pair of eights to claim the pot.

Cowan Gets Fold from Short

Level 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Joan Short limped from under the gun before Jennifer Cowan raised to 800 from the next seat over. Debra Ivey and Saki Hayashi called from the small and big blind, respectively. Short joined with a call.

The 69A flop led to a pair of checks from the blinds before Short bet 1,200. Cowan called while the blinds folded.

Short slowed down with a check on the 8 turn. Cowan bet 4,000, and Short mucked to award the pot to Cowan.

Ampe Eliminates Asano

Level 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Manon Ampe raised to 800 from under the gun. Shoko Asano called from early position before Cheryl Sloane made the call from the hijack. Gaeun Lee joined with a call from the big blind to create a four-handed pot.

The flop came down 3K6 before Asano checked. Ampe continued for 1,700 before Asano called. Sloane and Lee folded.

The 7 turn led to a bet of 5,500 from Ampe. Asano called.

Ampe slowed down with a check on the 3 river. Asano went all-in for 8,100 and was called by Ampe.

Asano showed KQ for a pair of kings, but she had kicker problems when Ampe tabled AK to knockout Asano.

Kitagawa Defends Her Blinds

Candice Harrison limped from the button, Dawn Thomas limped from the small blind, and Takana Kitagawa checked the big blind. The flop came out with 8K3, and all players checked.

On the turn 4, both blinds checked, and Harrison bet 1,100 and received a call from Kitagawa.

Both players checked the river 3.

Harrison showed Q10, and Kitagawa showed 64 for two pair and the win.

Wilms Triples with a Flush

Action was picked up with three women with all their cards and chips in the middle.

The board ran K5244. There was slight confusion about who won the hand but when the dust settled, wilms tripled up with a flush.

Kang's Aggression Pays Off

Level 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Daisy Kang raised to 600 and got the blinds, Manon Ampe in the small and Helaine Fox in the big blind to join her to the flop.

The dealer fanned out Q8J. Both blinds checked the action to Kang who fired 800. Ampe and Fox called.

Kang continued the pressure on the 10 turn. This time only Fox called.

Kang was finally able to shake everyone off on the 4 river with a 1,500 bet.

Zhu Boats Up on Wilms

Level 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Laura Dowell made it 700 from the hijack before Karen Wilms called from the cutoff. Jingtao Zhu re-raised to 3,000, which was enough to get a fold from Dowell. Wilms was not done with the hand and made the call.

The flop was all spades when it came AQJ. Wilms checked it over to Zhu, who bet 5,000. Dowell responded with a check-raise all-in, and Zhu called to put herself at risk for 12,800 total.

Zhu hit her set on the flop, but was outdone by the flush of Wilms.

That all changed on the turn when the A peeled to give Zhu a full house. Wilms was still alive, however, as she could still hit a straight flush.

It did not come to pass as the 7 hit the river to award Zhu the pot as Wilms was left on fumes.
