More for Volpe Without Showdown

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Four ways to the A102K turn, the action checked to Paul Volpe in the big blind, and he made it 90,000 to go. Ivan Starostin called, whereas Emmanuel Derecho and Karel Mokry folded. Volpe then bet the 9 river for 250,000, and Starostin let go.

While the hand played out, Lautaro Guerra was eliminated by Farid Jattin on another table to reduce the field to the final 30 hopefuls.

Mokry Boats Up to Eliminate Foxen

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Kristen Foxen
Kristen Foxen

Kristen Foxen was already all in for about 1,000,000 from middle position on a completed board of K5JK6 against Karel Mokry, who had Foxen covered from early position.

Foxen had AQ97 in front of her for a whiffed Broadway and flush draw, while Mokry held KJ109 for a full house to send the six-time bracelet winner out in 32nd place.

Jattin Gets Some Chips Back

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Aaron Kupin limped in, and Farid Jattin in the hijack made it 105,000 to go. Michael Hahn called in the cutoff, and Kupin made it a three-way to the A53 flop, on which he checked. Jattin then bet 160,000, and both of his opponents folded.

Engel Forces a Fold

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Diogo Veiga raised to 90,000 in early position and Ari Engel defended in the big blind.

The dealer put out a monotone flop of 74A and Engel check-called a bet of 80,000, bringing the J turn, where both players checked.

On the K river, Engel fired out a bet of 260,000 and Veiga thought for a moment before giving up his hand.

Volpe Gets Some Breathing Room

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Jesse Lonis raised to 70,000 from under the gun and was three-bet to 255,000 by Paul Volpe in the hijack. Action folded back to Lonis, who called.

Lonis checked on the J57 flop and Volpe bet 275,000 — leaving himself a single T-5,000 denomination chip behind. Lonis thought a bit before laying his hand down, and Volpe collected the pot.

Joyce Back to Seven Figures

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Toby Joyce had previously lost a large chunk of his stack without showdown against Diogo Veiga and both happened to clash again. Veiga opened to 75,000 and then called Joyce's pot-sized three-bet to 235,000 out of the big blind. The flop came 1063 and Joyce took some time to contemplate the next move before he announced "pot".

The bet was for 505,000 and represented a large portion of his stack. No call followed as Veiga sent his cards into the muck.

Zlotnikov Doubles Through Veiga

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Diego Romero opened to 85,000 from middle position and was called by Diogo Veiga in the hijack. Anatoly Zlotnikov then squeezed to 240,000 from the small blind — leaving himself just 15,000 behind. Romero got out of the way, but Veiga raised again to put Zlotnikov all in.

Zlotnikov declared his intention to stall a bit in the face of a pay jump, but eventually committed his remaining chips into the middle.

Anatoly Zlotnikov: AA106All in
Diogo Veiga: AQQ2

The board ran out A98Q10 — improving both players to sets, but leaving Zlotnikov best with his aces to score the double-up.

More for Shah and Liberta

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Syed Shah had previously doubled through Michael Mizrachi and then limped in, as did Michael Krasienko on the button. Joseph Liberta in the small blind made it 135,000 to go and Shah was the only caller.

The flop came A106 and a bet of 220,000 by Liberta won the pot uncontested.
