Tumboli Folds to Lonis's Pressure

Level 29 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Jesse Lonis
Jesse Lonis

Jesse Lonis raised to 375,000 from under the gun, and was called by Zarvan Tumboli in the small blind and Toby Joyce in the big blind.

Tumboli led out for 550,000 on the 48K flop, which got a fold from Joyce, but a raise from Lonis to 1,450,000. Tumboli called.

The 4 paired the board on the turn, and Tumboli checked to Lonis, who continued his aggression with a bet of 1,600,000. Tumboli let his hand go after a bit of thought, and Lonis extended his chip lead.

Final Break

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

The remaining eight players have been sent on a 15-minute break.

Two more levels will be played before players bag and tag for the night.

Tumboli Rivers the Nuts Against Lonis

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Zarvan Tumboli raised to 400,000 and was called by Jesse Lonis only. The flop came 982, and Tumboli check-called for 575,000. Both then checked the 3 turn and 4 river for Tumboli to announce "nuts".

"Did you say jacks?" Lonis asked, and Tumboli replied, "no, nuts," while his AKJ4 was already exposed. After the hand, the players went on their final break of the night.

Aaron Kupin Eliminated in 9th Place ($102,599)

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Aaron Kupin
Aaron Kupin

Jesse Lonis opened to 240,000 from the cutoff and called a three-bet of 780,000 from Aaron Kupin, who was in the big blind.

Kupin moved all in for approximately 1,200,000 on the 106Q flop and Lonis quickly called to put him at risk.

Aaron Kupin: AA76All in
Jesse Lonis: J975

Kupin was looking to hold with his aces, but the K turn immediately filled Lonis's straight draw to leave Kupin drawing dead.

The 4 fell on the river — making Kupin's elimination in ninth place official.

"I think this is the first time I've lost the chip lead the whole tournament!" Michael Mizrachi said from across the table.

Lonis Almost Closes the Gap to Mizrachi

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Jesse Lonis raised to 240,000 and was called by Raj Vohra, as well as Toby Joyce in the big blind. The KQ5 flop was checked to Lonis and his bet of 380,000 won the pot.

Aaron Kupin opened to 420,000 and Martin Zamani called on the button. On a flop of A102, Kupin bet 275,000 and Zamani folded.

Lonis then defended his big blind against a raise by Michael Mizrachi. He check-called the AAJ flop for 125,000 and the 6 turn for 400,000. Mizrachi checked behind the 8 river, and Lonis announced the "second nuts" before flipping over his AQ108 for aces full of eights.

"You could have just said you win, If he checks, it is kinda the nuts," Zamani mentioned with a smirk.

Zamani Gets no Resistance

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Jesse Lonis opened to 300,000 from middle position and was called by Michael Mizrachi on the button, Ian Matakis in the small blind, and Martin Zamani in the big blind for a four-way pot.

Action checked through on the 355 flop and Matakis checked again on the Q turn.

Zamani fired 350,000 into the middle and everyone quickly folded — awarding a nice pot to Zamani without a fight.

Lonis Chips Up Further

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

From under the gun, Jesse Lonis raised to 420,000, and Toby Joyce defended the big blind. The flop came Q44 and Joyce checked, after which Lonis asked for the size of the pot. He then bet 380,000 for around one third of the pot and Joyce folded.

The next limped battle of the blinds went to Lonis, too, before Martin Zamani raised the pot to 420,000 two hands in a row. In the second hand, Lonis repotted to 1,440,000 and forced out Zamani.

"The disrespect, must have been really bad kings," Lonis remarked.

Mizrachi Pays Tumboli Off

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Zarvan Tumboli
Zarvan Tumboli

Michael Mizrachi opened to 300,000 from the cutoff and Zarvan Tumboli defended his big blind.

Both players checked on the 10103 flop and then Mizrachi called a 325,000 bet from Tumboli on the J turn.

The 7 completed the board and Tumboli sized up for a bet of 990,000. Mizrachi didn't like it, but eventually decided to look up Tumboli, who tabled AJJ3 for jacks-full of tens.

Mizrachi tossed his cards into the muck and Tumboli was sent the sizable pot.
