One for O'Dea, One for Kitai

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

On one table, the action folded to Razavi Ghavamzadeh in the small blind, who limped in. Eoghan O'Dea raised to 3,000 in the big blind, and Ghavamzadeh called.

The dealer rolled out a Q9Q flop, and Ghavamzadeh wasted no time at all in check-folding when O'Dea continued for 2,500.

On a neighbouring table, Manh Nguyen limped in from middle position, and Davidi Kitai raised to 4,500 on the button. Nacho Barbero called in the small blind, and Nguyen called again.

The action checked to Kitai on a J56 flop, and he continued for 15,500. No sooner was his bet in the middle than both Barbero and Nguyen folded.

Misclick Sends Piiroinen Crashing Out

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Shawn Stroke raised to 3,000 under the gun, and Riku Piiroinen potted it to 10,500 from the hijack. The action returned to Stroke, who four-bet to 33,000.

Piiroinen went deep into the tank, spending several minutes deciding what to do. He hadn't realised that Stroke had initially raised when he potted it, and was now in the blender, having put one third of his stack into the middle.

Ultimately, he called the raise, leaving 1,100 behind.

The dealer spread a 2610 flop, and Stroke set Piiroinen all in, who called.

Riku Piiroinen: A1095 All in
Shawn Stroke: AKJ5

It was all over on the J turn, as Stroke improved to a flush.

A frustrated Piiroinen could do nothing more than hand his chips over and head to the exit, as the dealer completed the board with the 3.

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Sasha Liu limped from middle position and called a raise of 4,500 from Andrew Voor, who was in the cutoff.

The flop came 3QQ and Liu checked to Voor, who continued for a bet of 3,000. Liu then raised pot and Voor laid his hand down after a bit of thought.

Liu, who is looking for her second cash of the series, currently sits with about 90,000 in the late stages of Day 1.

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Action went heads-up to the turn in a hand between Jonathan Borenstein in the cutoff and Zachary Schwartz in the big blind.

Borenstein turned over AA87 for two pair, aces and fives, and the pot was pushed his way.

Vitch Goes Runner-Runner to Bust Lee

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Christopher Vitch
Christopher Vitch

Hok Lee opened to 3,500 from the hijack and was three-bet to 11,000 by Chris Vitch in the big blind. Undeterred, Lee made it 33,500 to go and Vitch called.

The flop came A64 and Vitch shoved. Lee quickly called all in for a bit under 20,000 and a showdown was held.

Hok Lee: AA98All in
Chris Vitch: AQJ7

Lee had Vitch drawing slim with his set of aces, but the 10K runout improved Vitch to an unlikely flush to come from behind and eliminate Vitch.

Jared Bleznick raised to 3,500 on the button, and called when Kevin Gorsic three-bet to 11,000 in the big blind.

Both players checked on the 749, and the dealer added the 7 to the board. Gorsic put in a delayed continuation bet of 7,000, and Bleznick wasted little time in letting go of his cards.

The turn landed the 6, Zipfel moved all in for 8,800 to put himself at risk, and Karp quickly called.

Jason Zipfel: A994 All in
Eli Karp: Q1073

Zipfel's set of nines held against Karp's open-ender as the river fell the 7, earning him the double up.

Zipfel took down Event #35: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha for a career-best score of $411,560 earlier in the series. He will look to follow up his performance with another deep run in the 10k.
