Level 17
Joey Couden
Joey Couden

Pot-Limit Omaha

The hand was picked up with Hiroyuki Noda betting 17,000 from the hijack on a flop of 29A. Joey Couden, who had the button, called.

On the 5 turn, Noda fired again, this time a pot-raise for 75,000.

The 6 on the river didn't discourage Noda any, as he tried to go all in for 255,000, but there was only 225,000 in the pot.

Couden pondered a call for a minute, and eventually moved a couple of stacks forward to look at Noda's hand. He didn't like what he saw.

Noda tabled 8764. He had turned a host of straight draws and the nine-high nuts came home via the river.

Level 17

Danny Tang opened to 20,000 from the hijack Matt Vengrin called from the cutoff.

Both players drew one, and Tang fired 38,000.

Vengrin asked Tang if he had around 100,000 chips behind, and it was a fair assessment. Vengrin put Tang all-in for his tournament life, and after some time in the tank and a few more peaks of his cards, Tang folded.

Action Flop

Level 17

No-Limit Hold'em

Action was picked up on a flop of A4J with a pot contested three ways. Under the gun player Matthew Beinner checked, as did hijack Julio Belluscio. Ryuta Nakai then bet out for 24,000 from the cutoff, and Beinner thought for quite a while. Eventually, he slid in a check-raise to 80,000.

Belluscio flat called for more than half his stack, and Nakai decided that 80,000 wasn't enough. He upped the price of poker to 185,000 with a three-bet, and Beinner tanked again. He ended up folding, and Belluscio did the same, tabling AQ in the process.
