Billirakis Holds to Double

Level 18

No-Limit Hold'em

Action was picked up on the flop of a three-bet pot, contested between Woody Deck, who was under the gun, and small blind Steve Billirakis.

With about 150,000 in the middle, Billirakis opted for 42,000 as his sizing on the 434 flop. Deck shoved, and Billirakis snap-called.

Steve Billirakis: QQ All in
Woody Deck: 65

Billirakis had to fade, and fade he did as the KK runout improved him to a better two pair than the one he had flopped, and secured his survival.

Couden Gets Nice Double-Plus

Level 18

Big O

Woody Deck limped for 8,000 from middle position and the two players to his immediate left, Joey Couden and Benjamin Miner, did the same.

Richard Bai put a stop to all that with a raise to 35,000 chips. Deck and Couden called, and Miner bailed.

The flop came 6107. Deck checked. Couden moved chips in for a pot-sized bet.

After Bai folded, Deck raised to get all of Couden's chips into the pot.

Joey Couden: AJ442All in
Woody Deck: A10952

Deck flopped top pair and an ace-deuce for low. Couden had a big flush draw and the same ace-deuce.

The turn and river of 47 made Couden's flush and he took down three-quarters of the pot.

Shlez Picks Up a Nine

Level 18

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Vadim Shlez opened to 25,000 from early position. Action folded to Nicholas Marchington on the button, who put in a three-bet to 70,000. Shlez called after a short think, and each player drew one.

Action checked through, and Shlez tabled 9x6x4x3x2x. "Did you pick up the nine?" asked a tablemate.

"Obviously," replied Shlez. Marchington stated that he picked up a 10.

Schaff Goes Up, Schaff Goes Down

Level 18

Pot-Limit Omaha

Aaron Schaff limped in first to act before Joshua Mullins made 27,000 from the hijack. Schaff, with 150,000 more behind, potted to 93,000 and took down the pot.

On the next deal, Brad Owen raised to 20,000 from the button and Schaff called from the big blind.

Both players checked on the Q87 flop. Schaff then check-called bets of 40,000 and 80,000 on the 10 turn and 5 river.

Owen had the nut-straight with KQJ9, and Schaff's stack shrank to 56,000.

Pescatori Went Fishing For Flush

Level 18

Pot-Limit 5-Card Double Draw High

Max Pescatori bet 65,000. Joshua Mullins raised to 130,000.

Pescatori thought about it for some time, then moved all in for 190,000 chips. Mullins made the call.

One the first draw, Mullins exchanged two cards, Pescatori one.

Those actions were repeated with the second draw, then the hands were tabled.

Max Pescatori: A653All in
Joshua Mullins: 888

With his trip eights against an all-in flush draw, Mullins revealed first. He pulled 10A, so no improvement.

Pescatori turned over a card for his tournament life, and it was the K. He was out.

Ward Binks Broadway for Double Elimination

Level 18

Pot-Limit Five Card Double Draw

Hal Rotholz opened to 21,000 under the gun. Danny Tang was sat on his left and made the call, as did Kevin Ward from the small blind. Robert Lofaso then moved all in for 41,000 from the big blind. Rotholz folded, Tang reshoved for 141,000, and Ward called off.

Each player drew one on the first draw, and the same occurred on the second.

Robert Lofaso: 7766 All in
Chi Tang: QJ98 All in
Kevin Ward: KQJ10

It was Ward to show first, and he flipped the A to leave both opponents drawing. Lofaso's 2 was no help, and neither was the 3 of Tang, sending them both to the rail.

Schreiber Shows a Flush; Barbero Shares a Bad Beat

Level 17

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Julio Belluscio raised to 15,000 from the cutoff and Matthew Schreiber came along from the big blind.

The 643 flop checked through to the 3 turn. Schreiber bet 25,000 and was called. The 7 river saw Schreiber size up to 54,000, and forced Belluscio out of the pot. Schreiber flashed his opponent KQ.

As Schreiber collected his chips, Nacho Barbero came over to the American to inform him that he had just lost a 600,000 chip pot in 2-7 Single Draw, where Barbero reportedly had his opponent drawing dead preflop, yet still came away as the loser.
