Abrams Gets $100 from Kessler

Level 20
Scott Abrams
Scott Abrams

Pot-Limit 5-Card Double Draw

Scott Abrams raised to 40,000 from the cutoff, and his attention was taken by Allen Kessler who was on the rail. Abrams told Kessler that the latter owed him $100 after correctly guessing the winner of the heads-up duel in the Ladies Championship.

Kessler came up to the table to hand over the Benjamin, but remained tight-gripped on it, but it eventually ended up in Abrams hands.

Naoya Kihara then raised to 103,000 from the big blind, and Abrams folded.

Deck Makes the Roughest of Eights

Level 20

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Renan Bruschi opened to 26,000 on the button, and received calls from both Woody Deck and Matthew Beinner in the blinds.

Each player drew one, and Deck checked his option. Beinner bet out for 45,000, and Bruschi snap-folded. Deck, on the other hand, snap called, and his 8x7x6x5x3x was good against the 10x8x7x4x3x of Beinner.

Shoreman Can't Find His Boat

Level 20

Pot-Limit 5-Card Double Draw

Action was caught ahead of the second draw, in a hand between Jonathan Shoreman and Ryuta Nakai.

Nakai checked from the big blind. Shoreman fired out a bet of 25,000, leaving around 55,000 behind. Nakai gunned for the last of the Brit's chips and Shoreman called.

Both players drew two cards.

Nakai was first to show, tabling KxKxKxQx10x. Shoreman had JxJxJx showing, and need to make a full house or quads to survive. He first turned over an Ax, and then finally saw his fate after peeling a 3x.

Nakai's trip kings took the pot and sent Shoreman out of the door.

Elsewhere, Brian Brunner and Vadim Shlez were eliminated.

Brunner Dealt Trips

Level 20

Pot-Limit 5-Card Double Draw

Ryuta Nakai opened to 35,000 under the gun, and action folded round to Brian Brunner in the big blind. He moved all in for 110,000, and Nakai made the call.

On the first draw, Brunner took one and Nakai took three. On the second draw, both players took one.

Brian Brunner: AAA10 All in
Ryuta Nakai: QQ88

Nakai revealed the 2 as his final card, meaning Brunner's 9 was a mere formality. "You were dealt trips?" asked a tablemate. "Yeah," replied Brunner. "And I needed it."

"What were you looking for?" Leonard asked Smith, who was caught peaking at his hole cards before placing out his bet.

Level 19

Big O

Woody Deck opened to 30,000 from the cutoff before Joey Couden potted it to 105,000 from the button. The blinds folded, and then Deck reraised for the 20,000 more that Couden had behind. The latter called for his tournament life.

Woody Deck: AAKQ7

The board ran out with the 3310710, and Deck's aces scored the knockout.

"It was nice playing with you," Deck told Couden. "I'm glad you beat Shaun [Deeb] for the bracelet."
