Brunson Shows Down Monster

James Obst raised in the hijack, Todd Brunson tossed in a third bet from the cutoff, and Obst called once the other players had folded.

Obst went on to check-call Brunson's bets on the 672 flop, K turn, and 10 river. Brunson showed AA53 for the nut low and a pair of aces. Obst did not try to claim either half of the pot, mucking his cards in defeat instead.

"Of course," Hellmuth, flipping over his AA108. The river was the 4, and Hellmuth's quest for bracelet No. 18 came to an end in this event.

Kings Enough for Clements

Ryan Bambrick raised under the gun, Scott Clements called in the hijack, and James Obst did so on the button. Bambrick checked the 1084 flop, causing Clements to fire a bet into the pot.

Obst then raised, forcing Bambrick out of the pot. Clements called, and the subsequent 10 turn and 9 river were checked to showdown.

Clements announced a pair of kings and tabled KK97 to prove it. Obst could not beat it, and the chips were sent Clements' way.

The flop came A9K and Clements bet. Weisman called, and the 10 fell on the turn.

Clements then bet again, and Weisman called. The river was the 2 and Clements bet. Weisman took a minute but eventually folded this time, and Clements took the pot.

"We're in a battle, boys," Phil Hellmuth said.

Weisman checked back, prompting Brunson to bet the J turn. After Weisman called, the 7 river was checked to showdown.

Brunson tabled AJ92 for the nut low and two pair. Weisman nodded in acknowledgement and mucked his cards to forfeit his former chips.

Bambrick Doubles Off Weisman

Scott Clements limped in from under the gun and Ryan Bambrick raised in the small blind. Dylan Weisman then reraised in the big blind, and both Clements and Bambrick called.

Bambrick led out with a bet on the JK8 flop and only Weisman called. Bambrick then bet his last 15,000 on the 10 turn, and Weisman called.

Bambrick had AA75, while Weisman showed 10954 for a pair and straight draw. The Q fell on the river to give Weisman his straight, but Bambrick also made a flush to win the pot and double up.

All three players checked to the turn on a board of 3797. Brunson then bet, and Bambrick called while Clements got out of the way.

Brunson bet again on the 8 river and Bambrick called, and Brunson then showed A632 for two pair and a low to scoop the pot.

Hellmuth Seeks Comfort After Cracked Aces

It folded to Phil Hellmuth in the small blind, who raised. Todd Brunson called in the big blind and called Hellmuth down when he fired all streets on the 1045K10 board.

"Aces," Hellmuth announced, but Brunson quickly tabled 9753 for a rivered flush.

"Wow," Hellmuth said as he flipped over AA73 for the losing hand. He then spent a few moments in self-pity before he concluded with a "whatever."

Hellmuth did not seem to mean that final statement, though, as he folded the next hand and went over to his wife, explaining how he was the only player patient enough to win the tournament.

Clements bet again on the 9 river, and Obst called. Clements then showed AA87 for two pair, and Obst mucked.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Scott Clements. Everybody loves him. Is there anyone who doesn't like him? Phil loves him too. Phil can't help but whine," Phil Hellmuth said.

"Your self-awareness is getting a lot better," Dylan Weisman replied to Hellmuth.

Weisman announced a raise, and Brunson chucked in a quick call. Weisman showed A762 for a flush, causing Brunson to shake his head and send his cards towards the muck.
