Misty Steiner opened to 120,000 under the gun, and Stephen Foutty called a few seats to her left. All other players folded, and the two went off to a 7♥9♠Q♥ flop.
Steiner continued with a bet of 150,000, and Foutty moved all in for his 885,000. Steiner quickly called.

Action was picked up on a flop of 9♥A♣3♣ with both Roberto Betbese and Alexander Voros both committing chips into the pot, making it worth around 800,000 when the turn 2♣ was dealt.
Betbese, with just 50,000 behind, went into the tank, as his opponent had 50,000 in his hand ready to call an all-in bet. The clock was promptly called on Betbese, who put his final chips into the middle with just a second to go. Voros snapped it off.

The table went into uproar as Betbese tabled the queen-high flush, in disbelief about his stall with such a strong hand. Voros, too, was clearly unhappy, as he was drawing dead with top pair, top kicker.
The river Q♠ changed nothing, as the floor let the table know that should the clock be called on Betbese again, he will have just five seconds to act.
Phil Hellmuth has one last shot this summer to extend his World Series of Poker bracelet record to 18.
The "Poker Brat," however, will need to spin up a short stack on the final day of the series to pull it off. Hellmuth will return to action at 1 p.m. PT for Day 2 of Event #99: $5,000 8-Handed No-Limit Hold'em, along with 71 others.
Hellmuth isn't the only big name still standing, hoping to win the bracelet and the $695,256 first-place prize. Adam Hendrix, Cliff Josephy, Joseph Cheong, and Brian Rast are among a number of notables coming back for the finale.
This hand was picked up on the completed board of 7♠9♣J♣9♦6♦ with approximately 500,000 already in the middle in a hand between Jacqueline Rosen from middle position and Alexandru Vasilescu from the hijack.
Rosen led out on the river for 500,000, which sent Vasilescu into the tank.
Vasilescu gave it some thought, and he made the correct decision as he put in the call to go to a showdown and was shown K♠4♠ by Rosen.
Vasilescu tabled Q♥J♥ for jacks and nines to claim the pot as Rosen was caught with only king-high.
Claus Bustos was all-in from middle position for 1,035,000 against Ivan Govorov in the small blind with Govorov at risk for his tournament life.

The 8♣7♥4♠ flop was of no help to Govorov as Bustos was well in front with his pocket kings.
Bustos stayed in front on the 6♦ turn, and the 4♥ river was of no consequence as Bustos secured the double to leave Govorov on fumes.
Govorov was seen exiting the tournament area as he busted shortly after losing this hand.
Action was picked up as the turn was about to be dealt, with three players all in. As it stood, the board read 4♣9♠10♦ and it was hijack Jason Wheeler who had two opponents at risk: Bret Winograd in the cutoff and Christopher Selami on the button.

Wheeler was well in the lead, and that didn't change on the 4♥ turn, but the Q♥ river gave Selami the three-outer to scoop the massive pot and survive.
Jakub Siedlaczek opened to 100,000 from the cutoff, leaving only 60,000 behind. Christopher Selami called from the big blind.
The 7♦2♦K♣ flop led to a check from Selami. Siedlaczek threw out his final 60,000, but Selami would not call as he folded his hand.
"Believe me. I wanted to call as badly as you wanted a call," said Selami after he pitched his cards in the muck to award the pot to Siedlaczek.
