Just Quads Versus Straight

Level 3 : 200/400, 0 ante

Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo

Todd Ickow: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Andrew Suszczyk: {K-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

More than 10,000 were in the middle with four players to seventh street and Frank DiGiorgio as well as Joseph Hoffman eventually folded to the betting action of Todd Ickow and Andrew Suszcyk. The latter was not amused that he had to chop with his low and a straight while Ickow apparently hit quads jacks on seventh street to get the other half of the pot.

Ickow min-cashed this very event in 2016 and also finished fourth in the $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. event the same year as well.

Opponent: {X-}{X-} / {K-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} / {X-}

Maria Ho was eating a healthy-looking salad which she said was delicious as she called her opponent's bet on sixth street.

On seventh street both players checked, and Ho showed {10-}{5-}{2-} for a ten-low which won.

Johns Back Above Starting Stack

Level 3 : 200/400, 0 ante

Seven-Card Stud

Ian Johns: {X-}{X-} / {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Opponent: {X-}{X-} / {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}

Ian Johns completed with a nine and his opponent raised with an ace, which Johns called. His opponent then bet through fourth and fifth streets before checking sixth street. That's when Johns bet, and he took down the pot to climb back above starting stack.

Fabrice Soulier finished 4th in Event #9: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship yesterday and is back in action today while Daniel Negreanu and Abe Mosseri battle for the title later on. Soulier joked "that's not a bad start with jetlag and all," and also already built some profit in this event as well.

Brandon Shak-Harris has been moved tables, as has Lacey Jones, and they are now in the Tan section. For mixed game specialist Shack-Harris, not much has been happening yet and he dropped to just over half the starting stack while the overall field has grown to 570 entries.

The registration remains open until the start of level seven, though.

Kay Scoops Ray

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Four players invested four bets each with Josh Kay in the small blind and Zachary Ray under the gun. Those two would end up as the two players in showdown, while the other two players stayed there until the river before folding.

On the {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop, Kay checked and Ray bet to pick up calls from all opponents before the same action repeated on the {9-Hearts} turn. After the {2-Hearts} river, Kay checked and Ray bet. That got the other two players out of the hand, but Kay called and was shown {A-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} by Ray. Kay had that beat with {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for two pair and a low and scooped the pot.

Right after, Ray was moved tables while Kay was still stacking the profit.
