Hirvonen Holds to Bust Benson

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Big O

Mikko Hirvonen opened to 2,000 on the button and called a three-bet to 6,400 from big blind Gary Benson. The flop came {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}, and Benson bet 10,000. Hirvonen potted, and Benson slid in his stack of 45,000 or so.

Benson: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Hirvonen: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}

"I need a diamond," Benson observed. None emerged, as it came {6-Spades} then {j-Spades} to seal his elimination.

Makarov Doubles Through Obst

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
Alexey Makarov
Alexey Makarov

Big O

Catching the action on the {9-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop with both James Obst and Alexey Makarov committing 6,800 preflop, Obst bet 7,800. Makarov responded by raising all in for his last 33,900, and after some deliberation, Obst called.

Obst: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Makarov: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}

The turn and river came the {K-Diamonds} and the {3-Diamonds}, and Makarov rivered threes full to double to more than 80,000 in chips.

Turner and Negreanu Chop

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Jon Turner completed, and Daniel Negreanu raised. Turner clicked it back to 4,500, and Negreanu called. Turner led fourth street, and Negreanu called. On fifth, once Turner bet 3,000, Negreanu raised. Turner called, then led sixth and seventh streets, with Negreanu calling each time.

Turner: {X-}{X-} / {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades} / {X-}
Negreanu: {X-}{X-} / {3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{J-Spades} / {X-}

Turner tabled his {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Spades} for a flush as Negreanu tabled his {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for an eight-five low. The pot was chopped up between the two.

Bowker Fires Big

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

We didn't see whether Adam Owen (big blind) or Jesse Martin (middle position) took cards on the last pull, but Kyle Bowker appeared to be waiting to peek at the one he drew. There was already 23,000 or so in the pot, and after two checks, Bowker bet 18,000. Owen mucked, as did Martin, and Bowker is surging early with a stack that's in contention for the lead.

Thornton Picks Off Couden

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Schuyler Thornton bet 3,100, about half the pot, from middle position on a {7-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{2-Clubs} board. Joseph Couden made it 8,800 on the button, and Thornton called. On the {q-Clubs} river, Thornton checked. Couden fired 14,000, and Thornton called, winning the pot with {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} when Couden didn't show right away.

At the neighboring table, Eric Crain took a seat.

Scary Board Doesn't Faze Owen

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Razz

Adam Owen appeared to have the betting lead with either a bet or raise against Jesse Martin on fifth street.

Owen: {x-}{x-}/{a-}{q-}{5-}
Martin: {x-}{x-}/{3-}{2-}{7-}

Martin tanked a bit before splashing in a call, and he caught bad with the {j-Clubs}, while Owen got a friendly {3-Diamonds}. Owen bet again, and Martin quickly gave it up.

Threes Full for Gaspard

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Stud

Jean Gaspard completed, and his opponent made it two bets to go. Gaspard raised, and his opponent called.

On fourth street, Gaspard took the option to double bet for 3,000, and his opponent called. Gaspard continued betting on fifth, sixth, and seventh streets.

Gaspard: {X-}{X-} / {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{Q-Spades} / {X-}
Opponent: {X-}{X-} / {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{J-Spades} / {X-}

After Gaspard bet the last street, his opponent raised, and Gaspard called.

Gaspard's opponent tabled {K-}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for two pair that turned into a straight. Gaspard, however, tabled {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs} for a full house, and he scooped the pot.

Chidwick Rivered by Freeman to the Rail

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

Pot-Limit Omaha

Zachary Freeman opened to 2,500, and Stephen Chidwick three-bet the button to 8,700. Freeman called, and the flop landed {J-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Freeman bet out 15,000, and Chidwick moved all in for his last 30,200. Freeman called, and the cards were tabled.

Freeman: {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Chidwick: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}

With Chidwick in the lead with his overpair and nut flush draw, the {2-Clubs} on the turn changed little. When the {5-Clubs} completed the board on the river, though, Freeman made jacks up to send Chidwick tumbling to the rail.

Hang Chopped Up By Dehkharghani and Benyamine

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Badeucey

Picking up action on the first draw just before the level increased, David Benyamine (big blind) and Ray Dehkharghani (middle position) each pulled two, and Tommy Hang pulled three. Dehkharghani bet and got two calls. The draws went two-one-two on the second pull, with Dehkharghani leading the betting again.

On the final pull, everyone wanted one card. Dehkharghani bet again and got two calls. He fanned {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for the second-nut low and a three-card seven. Benyamine had a ten-badugi with {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, and Hang couldn't beat anyone.
