Fabrice Soulier Triples Up

Level 8 : 300/600, 0 ante

The player in the cutoff opened to 2,100, Fabrice Soulier moved all in from the small blind for about 2,600, the big blind called to put himself at risk, the cutoff called as well, and all three players tabled their hands.

Soulier: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Cutoff: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Big blind: {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}

The board ran out {J-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{J-Clubs}, giving Soulier the nut flush. However, he turned his cards over and tossed them forward, but the dealer caught them and spread them back out. He explained that because Soulier had already very clearly tabled his hand, it was still live, and he took the main pot to triple up.

Greg Raymer Climbing

Level 8 : 300/600, 0 ante

2004 World Series of Poker Main Event Champion Greg "Fossilman" Raymer joined the field near the end of late registration and has already started to chip up. Raymer raised to 1,600 from middle position and got one caller from the big blind.

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Raymer's opponent check-folded to a 3,000 bet, and Raymer scooped the pot to put him over double the starting stack.

Ryan Laplante

Defending champion Ryan Laplante was recently eliminated when he got all his chips in before the flop with {A-}{Q-}{9-}{8-} against a single opponent with pocket aces. The case ace showed up on the flop, and even though Laplante picked up a flush draw, he failed to improve on the turn or river.

Players who are eliminated from Flight A have the option to try their luck again in Flight B, which will get underway in about an hour.

Chance Kornuth Eliminated

Level 7 : 250/500, 0 ante

With about 3,500 chips already in the middle and the board reading {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, PLO bracelet winner Chance Kornuth was first to act and moved all in for his last 1,650. Farhad Sinaei called from the hijack and the player in the cutoff called as well.

The turn brought the {K-Spades} and Sinaei checked. The player in the cutoff bet 4,000 and Sinaei called.

The {3-Spades} fell on the river and both players checked. Sinaei tabled {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{8-Spades} for jacks full, which was good enough to win the pot and eliminate Kornuth.
