Shchemelev Zeroed by Couden

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha:

On the river of a {3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} board, big blind Vladimir Shchemelev checked to Joseph Couden, his next-door neighbor on the left. Couden bet a pile of yellow chips worth 1,000 apiece, making it about 20,000.

Shchemelev moved all in, which was about the same amount as the bet. Couden didn't even bother with the precise counts, and without saying, "Call," opened {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} to knock out Shchemelev with a straight. Shchemelev mucked, and while the dealer turned over his cards for a moment, it didn't matter at that point.

Deeb Finds a Call, Wins Big

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Razz:

Shaun Deeb, Wendy Freedman, and Matt Grapenthien all made it to the seventh street. Deeb bet both fourth and fifth streets, and Freedman bet sixth. Deeb bet seventh street, and Freedman called. Grapenthien, however, woke up with a raise this time, and that wasn't exactly what Deeb wished for. He shook his head, saying the f-word a couple of times, indicating he had a tough call to make. He eventually did call, and Freedman folded.

Grapenthien didn't need to show his hand, as Deeb opened {8-}{7-} / {3-}{A-}{J-}{J-} / {4-} for the winner. "That would be a perfect slowroll for you to make," Deeb joked with Grapenthien, who couldn't oblige.

Christopher Vitch Calls Down Ron Ware

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Seven Card Stud:

Vitch: {x-}{x-} / {7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} / {x-}
Ware: {x-}{x-} / {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} / {x-}

Christopher Vitch completed, and Ron Ware raised. Vitch called. Ware then bet every street, with Vitch calling him down. Vitch showed {q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for two pair, queens and sevens, and that was good enough to take down the pot.

Luneau Flushes Serock

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Seven Card Stud:

With the action on the sixth street of a juicy pot, Alex Luneau raised over Joe Serock's bet. Serock called, then checked-called Luneau's bet on the seventh street. Luneau announced a flush, and he, indeed, had two clubs in the hole. Serock mucked his hand, losing a decent chunk to the Frenchman.

Joe Serock: {X-}{X-} / {K-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{10-Hearts} / {X-}
Alexandre Luneau: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} / {8-Spades}{A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs} / {3-Clubs}

Naoya Kihara Flops Quads

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better:

Dustin Sitar raised from the button, and Naoya Kihara moved all in for 1,100 more in the big blind. Sitar called.

Sitar: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Kihara: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

"I'm not in bad shape," Kihara said, studying his opponent's hand.

He was in even better shape after the flop came {a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{a-Spades}, giving him quads. The turn {5-Clubs} and river {5-Diamonds} didn't matter, and Kihara scooped and double-up.

Chidwick Makes a Seventy-Six to Score a Near-Triple

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw:

Christopher Vitch raised from under the gun, and small blind Stephen Chidwick reraised. Zachary Richards joined from the big blind, and Vitch called, too.

All players drew two, and Chidwick led with a bet. Richards called, and Vitch raised. Chidwick three-bet, which was more than Richards had in total. Richards called all in for his 5,000 (two bets), and Vitch called Chidwick's three-bet.

Chidwick patted, and Vitch drew one. Chidwick then shoved for his remaining 2,400. Vitch called, drawing one again, albeit having a bad feeling about his chances: "I might be drawing dead," he said.

Chidwick turned over {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for the second nuts, and neither Vitch nor Richards could beat him. Vitch dropped a chunk of his big stack, while Richards departed.

Timothy Frazin Breaks, But it's Not Enough

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw:

Timothy Frazin raised from under the gun, and Zachary Milchman defended his button. Both players drew one, and Frazin check-called a bet.

Frazin drew one, and Milchman stood pat. Both players checked.

Looking at his cards, Frazin threw a {10-} face-up. "I think I'm breaking the best hand," he said as he drew one. Milchman stood pat again.

Frazin checked, and Milchman checked behind and announced "Eight," showing {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{2-}.

Flinging the {9-} face-up, Frazin showed that he had improved, revealing the {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-} that came along with it.
