More for Zhang After Set Over Set

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Chi Zhang
Chi Zhang

Joining the action on the {9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop, table and tournament chip leader Chi Zhang and Metin Aksoy got into a raising war and the latter ended up shoving for around 135,000. Zhang looked him up and the cards were tabled.

Metin Aksoy: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Chi Zhang: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}

The {K-Diamonds} turn gave Zhang the better set and several players at the table gasped. A blank {6-Hearts} river didn't change the outcome of the hand anymore and Zhang may very well be the first player above one million in chips soon.

"You got some potential there," Yuriy Boyko said after the {Q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop. The {10-Spades} appeared on the turn and the {J-Clubs} river improved Calvo to a straight.

The board ran out {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{4-Spades} {8-Spades} {4-Clubs} and Zhang got another elimination and opened up his lead on the field.

A short-stacked Guy Pariente shoved for 58,000 and Mazin Khoury called with the {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} in the big blind. Pariente had {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} and saw the board run out {J-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}.

Then, the biggest hand of the tournament thus far was played between Asi Moshe and Gregory Baird. Pete Chen opened to 12,000 and Moshe three-bet to 42,500 in the small blind. Baird only called in the big blind and Chen folded. On the {6-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, Moshe continued for 42,500 and was called and then fired 82,000 on the {10-Hearts} turn.

The {10-Spades} river completed a possible flush and Moshe shoved for 148,000 in total. Baird called with pocket aces and Moshe showed {A-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for trips deuces to rake in a massive double.

Cooler!

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Charalampos Lappas was in early position and raised to 12,000. Sadan Turker was in middle position and three-bet to 35,000. Matthew Bucciero was in the big blind and called, putting action back on Lappas. After thinking for a bit, he announced, "All in." Turker snap-called for his remaining 172,000 and Bucciero mucked.

Turker showed {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and Lappas tabled {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{j-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} and Turker took down this huge set-up hand.

Zeng Gives to Cloutier; Busts Armand

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Linglin Zeng raised to 12,000 on the button and Eric Cloutier three-bet to 24,000 from one seat over in the small blind. Zeng called and Cloutier continued for 10,000 on the {K-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop, which Zeng called. Cloutier checked the {5-Spades} turn and Zeng bet 27,000 before folding to a shove.

In the next hand, James Romero raised to 15,000 and Tony Armand called, as did Zeng. On the {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop, the action checked to Zeng and she shoved for 68,000. Romero folded but Armand called with a very similar stack.

Linglin Zeng: {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Tony Armand: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}

The {A-Clubs} turn improved Zeng to a flush and the {2-Spades} on the river was of no help for Armand. His stack was counted and he was covered by just 1,000 to join the rail.

The flop was {k-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Sabat check-called Abdellatif's bet of 26,000.

The turn was the {7-Clubs} and Sabat check-called Abdellatif's bet of 44,000.

The river was the {8-Clubs} and both players checked. Sabat tabled {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} and Abdellatif mucked.
