Hoefer Busts to Abdellatif

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Paul Hoefer, who won a bracelet in the 2015 Event #61: The Little One for One Drop - $1,111 No-Limit Hold'em, shoved for his last 56,000 from early position and Jonathan Abdellatif looked him up from late position.

Paul Hoefer: {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}
Jonathan Abdellatif: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

The board ran out {7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{J-Spades} and Hoefer failed to improve, joining the rail as a result.

Squeeze Goes Wrong, Turns Out Well

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Chad J Brown
Chad J Brown

Martin Kabrhel was the first casualty after coming back from dinner and his table provided more fireworks shortly after. Jed Friedman raised and picked up two callers before Chad J Brown squeezed at the wrong time. Friedman looked him up for 104,000 with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and Brown only had the {J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

However, the {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop gave Brown trips and he won the hand with a full house thanks to the {K-Clubs} turn and {10-Clubs} river. "It was a squeeze. guys. You know, I expect everyone to fold," Brown said while raking in the pot. Friedman was left with just a few big blinds and busted soon after.

Margereson Busts Pritamani in Massive Pot

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Scott Margereson
Scott Margereson

Scott Margereson raised and picked up four callers including Paul Hoefer, Jonathan Abdellatif in the small blind, and Mahesh Pritamani in the big blind. All four players checked the {K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop and the {A-Clubs} fell on the turn. The action checked to Margereson who continued with a bet of 19,000.

Hoefer folded while Abdellatif called. Pritamani then check-raised all in for 126,000 in total and Margereson called. Abdellatif called as well and Ernest Smith from one seat over remained there with a gasp while the {5-Spades} fell on the river. Abdellatif checked and Margereson bet 90,000, which ultimately forced a fold from the Belgian.

Margereson rolled over {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} for a set of nines and Pritamani mucked his {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for top pair only to join the rail in 72nd place.

Fernandez Loses Small All In

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Peter Vitantonio moved all in for his last 30,000 and start-of-the-day chip leader Pablo Fernandez called in the small blind.

Vitantonio showed {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Fernandez had the {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for a flip. Vitantonio picked up a ton more outs on the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop and the {J-Diamonds} turn gave him the better pair. A blank {5-Spades} on the river was no threat and Vitantonio put a small dent into Fernandez's stack.

Chen Busts Aldridge

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Ken Aldridge
Ken Aldridge

Ken Aldridge raised from under the gun and Pete Chen called to see the flop of {J-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Aldridge checked, Chen bet 19,000, and Alridge check-raised to 60,000. Chen moved all in and Aldridge called it off for around 130,000.

Ken Aldridge: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Pete Chen: {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

The {2-Hearts} turn and {10-Diamonds} river were both blanks and Aldridge said goodbye and left the table with a smile and the words, "It was not meant to be this time."

The Stacks Are Getting Bigger

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

John Monnette lost the vast majority of his stack when a short stack shoved for 30,000 with pocket jacks and he called with ace-king in the small blind. Michael Krasienko reshoved for 160,000 in the big blind with pocket aces and Monnette called it off. The remaining few chips then went one seat over to James Romero.

Other players on the rise include Chi Zhang, Matt Waxman, and Giuseppe Pantaleo.
