Dietrich Busts Esfandiari, Takes Chip Lead

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Antonio Esfandiari
Antonio Esfandiari

A preflop three-way all-in went down between Antonio Esfandiari, Moritz Dietrich, and Joseph Cappello. Dietrich had both players covered.

Dietrich: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Esfandiari: {a-}{k-}
Cappello: {j-}{j-}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, giving Cappello a straight on the turn and a triple-up with the massive side pot going to Dietrich with his pair of kings.

Dietrich is now the tournament chip leader and Esfandiari has hit the rail.

Rocco Palumbo Doubles Through Russell Thomas

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

With a massive pot of about 80,000 already brewing and the board reading {Q-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, Rocco Palumbo was in the big blind and facing a decision for his stack against Russell Thomas, who had put 85,000 chips into the middle. Palumbo had about 35,000 behind and went into the tank for several minutes.

Ultimately, he called and flipped over {5-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for fives full which was good enough to win the pot against Thomas who showed {A-Spades}{J-Spades} for a missed flush draw.

Beresford Leaves Gross Very Short

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

A sizeable pot was brewing between Jeff Gross and Conor Beresford on the turn of a {q-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} board when the former jammed all in.

"All-in?" said Beresford. "I call," he continued, sliding his stack forward.

Gross: {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Beresford: {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

Gross was in trouble, drawing to one of the remaining aces. The {7-Hearts} hit on the river and it was determined Gross had Beresford slightly covered.

Patrick Leonard Chips Up Through Michael Mizrachi

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Michael Mizrachi opened to 3,500 from under the gun, the player next to act called, and Patrick Leonard three-bet from the button to 14,000. Mizrachi was the only caller and the flop came {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Mizrachi checked, Leonard bet 15,500, and Mizrachi called.

The turn brought the {6-Spades} and Mizrachi checked again. Leonard took a bit of time to count out his chips and think before sliding his entire stack into the middle, which sent Mizrachi into the tank. After just under a minute, Mizrachi folded and Leonard took the pot.

"I know I had you preflop," said Mizrachi.

"Queens?" asked Leonard. Mizrachi nodded and shrugged.
