Mike Matusow Makes His Exit; More Chip Counts

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Mike Matusow recently hit the rail after he couldn't find the high or the low in a four-way pot, but several more players have shown up in the field including Andy Frankenberger, Ben Yu, and Jesse Sylvia.

A Few New Faces

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Several new players managed to squeak into the tournament just before the close of registration including Jason Mercier and Leif Force.

Jimmy Fricke Exits

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Jimmy Fricke called a raise in the big blind and the two went heads-up to a flop. On the {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds} board, Fricke check-called a bet. The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and Ficke check-called another bet. On the {J-Clubs} river, Fricke check-called a third time.

His opponent showed {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} for a low and a pair of queens. That was good enough to scoop the pot and Fricke was left with just about 1,000 chips. He was eliminated from the tournament shortly after.

A Quarter of a Three-Way Pot for Maria Ho

Level 6 : 400/800, 0 ante

Maria Ho limped under the gun which prompted four more limps, and a check from the big blind.

The flop came {8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and action check to Ho, who bet. She was called by the player in the cutoff and from the player in the small blind.

On the {2-Diamonds} turn, the small blind checked to Ho, who bet. Both players called again.

On the {6-Clubs} river, all three players checked and their hands were exposed.

Ho: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Cutoff: {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{A-Spades}{3-Spades}
Small Blind: {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}

Ho and the cutoff chopped the low with their {A-}{3-} while the small blind took the high with his flush. Despite taking a small hit in the pot, Ho has already built over starting stack after joining Event #4 midway through the day.

Some Have Chips, Some Don't

Level 6 : 400/800, 0 ante

Chino Rheem and Eric Wasserson have busted from the event, but there are plenty of other notables left with chips.
