Amarapu, Vornicu Eliminate Friedman

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Adam Friedman
Adam Friedman

We found Adam Friedman all in on fifth streeth with {3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} up. He was up against Vasu Amarapu, who had three to a wheel, and Valentin Vornicu, who didn't have much but picked up queens on sixth.

Vornicu: {x-}{x-}/{q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Amarapu: {x-}{x-}/{a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Friedman: {x-}{x-}/{3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Bets went into the side pot between Amarapu and Vornicu and both of those players checked on the end. Vornicu showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{4-Hearts} for trip queens and no low. Amarapu had {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for aces and a seven-low and Friedman couldn't beat either of those with {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, good for just aces.

At a neighboring table, "Miami" John Cernuto is up to 95,000, which he said came courtesy of a monster pot where he made quad sevens.

Mammon Scoops Bonomo and Watson

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Justin Bonomo and Mike Watson took part in a three-way pot, but they both conceded to Joshua Mammon. All players placed in one bet on sixth street and another on seventh.

Bonomo: {X-}{X-} / {3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{K-Clubs} / {X-}
Watson: {X-}{X-} / {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} / {X-}
Mammon: {X-}{X-} / {2-Spades}{2-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} / {X-}

Bonomo declared, "Kings up," but Mammon had that beat with his {A-Spades}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades} for trip deuces. Watson mucked. Bonomo and Watson now both have less than eight big bets behind.

Disguised Boat for Sklansky

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

David Sklansky was sporting a board with three low cards on the end and facing Kevin Song, who had three diamonds among his high-heavy board.

Sklansky: {x-}{x-}/{7-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Clubs}/{x-}
Song: {x-}{x-}/{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}/{x-}

Sklansky bet on the end and Song thought awhile and called. The famed author turned over {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for a disguised tens full of threes.

"Wow," Song said. "I had king-high flush. I almost raised you."

Vornicu Couldn't Believe What He Saw

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Caught on sixth street, Valentin Vornicu battled against Jacek Ladny. Ladny bet out and Vornicu raised. Ladny, however, fired back with a three-bet. Vornicu called and eventually paid another bet on seventh.

Vornicu: {X-}{X-} / {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{J-Spades} / {X-}
Ladny: {X-}{X-} / {A-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{10-Hearts} / {X-}

Ladny showed {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for trip tens and Vornicu couldn't believe what had just happened.

"First of all," Vornicu said, showing the {10-Clubs}. He continued with, "Second of all," flipping the {2-Hearts}. Vornicu had a blocker to Ladny's open tens, but he still managed to spike trips while Vornicu had trips too.

"How is this possible?" sighed Vornicu in disbelief.

Ross Wins With a Raise

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Mike Ross was facing a bet from Henry Hull on the end, with Hull showing a high board and Ross two high cards and two low cards.

Hull: {x-}{x-}/{k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{j-Hearts}/{x-}
Ross: {x-}{x-}/{9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{7-Spades}{j-Clubs}/{x-}

Ross put in a raise and Hull thought a bit and folded, giving up the sizable pot to Ross without a showdown.

Cassidy Scooped by Fasen

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Leo Fasen called a bet from Joe Cassidy, who had three low cards on fifth, then Fasen picked up open aces on sixth and they both checked.

Fasen: {x-}{x-}/{5-Spades}{10-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}
Cassidy: {x-}{x-}/{2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

After Cassidy called a final bet on the end, Fasen showed {3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a six-low with aces, and that was a scooper.

Leah Loses a Large Chunk to Armentrout

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Three-way pot saw Derek Armentrout, Mike Leah and Danny Chapman tangle in a big pot. Leah was eventually the only player whose stack took a hit. The action unfolded as follows:

Armentrout completed with the {4-Diamonds}, and Leah and Chapman came along.

Armentrout bet out when he hit an ace on fourth, and both players called again. Armentrout paired his fours on fifth and continued betting, earning another call from Leah. Chapman, however, opted to raise, leaving himself just 1,500 behind. Armentrout countered with a three-bet, but Leah wasn't willing to let his hand go just yet, and called again. Chapman called off.

Sixth street brought another bet from Armentrout and Leah paid once more before they checked on seventh.

Mike Leah: {X-}{X-} / {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} / {X-}
Danny Chapman: {X-}{X-} / {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} / {X-}
Derek Armentrout: {X-}{X-} / {4-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades} / {X-}

Armentrout turned over {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for a full house, taking the full side pot as Leah held only {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for a missed flush draw and a pair of nines. Chapman chopped the main pot with Armentrout as he showed a hand that qualified for low.
