"Miami" Heads to the Beach

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante
John Cernuto
John Cernuto

Razz

"Miami" John Cernuto got his chips in as a slight favorite with {7-}{5-}{4-} against the {7-}{6-}{3-} of Hanks Honig. However, Honig caught gin with {a-}{2-} right away before a couple of jacks, leaving Cernuto in bad shape, thought he picked up {j-}{3-}{q-} to give him a live draw to an ace or deuce. He peeled a {7-} though.

Everyone's Playing For Second

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Matusow: {x-}{x-} / {4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Spades}
Schreiber: {x-}{x-} / {5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{10-Spades} — Folded

Action was on Mike Matusow on sixth street when we caught up to the hand. Matusow bet and Schreiber was in the tank.

"After I scoop this pot, you're all going to be playing for second," Matusow said.

"I'll take the field over that Mike," Shaun Deeb said, who had recently been moved to the table. "I'll even give you odds because I love you."

"I tried to give him odds," Shannon Petluck said. "I was gonna give him ten to one!"

Eventually, Schreiber folded. Matusow made a face and flashed {4-}{4-}.

"I was rolled up!" Matusow said.

Schreiber claimed he had two pair, but later changed his story, saying he had a pair and flush and straight draws.

Steike Hits a Big River to Take From Hughes

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Hold'em

Ryan Hughes opened with a raise. He was three bet by David Steicke from the button. Hughes called.

On the {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} flop, Hughes checked to Steicke, who bet. Hughes raised and Steicke called

The turn was the {A-Diamonds} and Hughes bet again, Steicke called.

On the {K-Clubs} river, both players checked. Hughes showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} but it was no good as Steicke made two pair with his {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} on the river.

"That was a frigid river," Brandon Cantu said from a few seats over.
