"The Rich Get Richer"

Level 9 : 400/800, 0 ante

The cards were on their backs between an all-in player and runaway chip-leader Marcos Fernandez.

Fernandez: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
All-in player: {q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{a-Spades}{7-Clubs}

The flop was {3-Hearts}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts} giving the all-in player a low as well as a wheel draw for a shot at the high. The turn was the {8-Diamonds} meaning that Fernandez was guaranteed at least half the pot. He needed to hit a two on the river, and with the all-in player holding one in his hand the chances of that were reduced somewhat.

The river was the {2-Clubs} and Fernandez increased his considerable chipstack even further.

"And the rich get richer," remarked one of his tablemates.

Phil Hellmuth Doubles Up

Level 8 : 300/600, 0 ante

"Phil's playing extra tight today," said Darryl Dauenhauer. The Poker Brat's stack had been in play for just under 80 minutes now, and had dwindled to around 5,000. As he was speaking, Hellmuth showed up.

In the first hand a player in middle position opened to 1,800. Hellmuth and the big blind both called. The flop was {9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

It checked to the initial raiser who moved all in for 2,750. Hellmuth called and the third player called as well.

The turn was the {9-Clubs}. It checked to Hellmuth who moved in for 700. The other player called.

Hellmuth: {4-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
All-in player: {a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Third player: {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{a-Spades}

Hellmuth and the all-in player both chopped with fours and nines and an ace-kicker while there was no low.

Ray Henson Eliminates a Player

Level 8 : 300/600, 0 ante

On an {4-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} flop Ben Yu and another player checked to Ray Henson who bet 3,500 into 4,500. Both players called.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} and it checked to Henson who moved all in. Yu folded and after a short while the third player in the hand moved all in himself.

Henson: {a-Spades}{4-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}
All-in player: {2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The all in player's only hope was to make a low, and he was drawing pretty live. However, the river was the {j-Diamonds} meaning he was eliminated and Henson boosted his stack up over 40,000.

Level 7 : 250/500, 0 ante

Randy Ohel limped from middle position. Chip-leader Marcos Fernandez, with close to 100,000 in chips, called from the small blind and the big blind checked.

The flop was {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. It checked to the big blind who bet 1,500. Ohel and Fernandez both called.

The turn was the {9-Hearts}. Fernandez checked and the big blind bet 3,000. Ohel called and Fernandez folded.

The river was the {4-Spades}. Both players checked and Ohel showed {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Hearts} for trip nines and took down the pot.

Chris Ferguson

Chris Ferguson raised to 1,200 from early position. Ray Muzyka called in the big blind.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Muzyka check-called a bet of 1,400.

The turn was the {j-Spades} and Muzyka checked again. This time Ferguson bet 2,400 and Muzyka check-raised to 5,200. Ferguson called.

Muzykya bet 5,000 on the river and Ferguson moved all in. Muzyka snap-called.

Ferguson: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{x-}
Muzyka: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Ferguson had flopped aces full, but Muzyka had out-flopped him with quad tens. Muzyka's all in was for 21,575 and Ferguson was left with just 1,625 behind. He lost this in the next hand when he was scooped by Muzyka, and he was eliminated.
