2017 World Series of Poker

Play has wrapped up on Day 2 of Event #49: $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Handed, and an action day it was. The day started with 127 players and dwindled down to just 19 returning on Tuesday for their shot at a WSOP bracelet and $362,185.

Chino Rheem leads the field into the final day with 952,000 in chips. Rheem has the most career live tournament earnings of anyone left in the field with $8,732,859. He has won everything there is to win in the poker industry other than a WSOP gold bracelet and he will be looking for that elusive prize on Tuesday. Rheem's biggest payday came in 2008 when he finished in 7th place of the WSOP Main event for $1,772,650.

Louie Calvo is not far behind the chip leader with 914,000 heading into Day 3. Calvo had a quiet day but came on strong at the end as he looks to win his first major poker tournament of his career. Daniel Reijmer found a healthy stack to bag as well with 770,000 chips to return to on Day 3.

The money bubble burst at the beginning of Level 13, the third level of the day, when Joshua Dickson had his aces cracked by Curtis Rystadt's flopped full house. The remaining 95 players were all guaranteed $4,499 and the eliminations started to come quickly.

Some notables who made the money but were unable to find a bag at the end of the day were Mike Sexton (94th place - $4,499), John Racener (92nd place - $4,499), Jared Bleznick ($4,665), Dmitry Yurasov (60th place - $4,955), Felipe Ramos (57th place - $4,955), Juha Helppi (50th place - $5,407), and Christian Harder (22nd place - $12,266).

When the remaining 19 players return Tuesday, they will all be vying for the gold bracelet and the six-figure payday. Play will begin in Level 21 with the blinds at 6,000/12,000 and will conclude once a winner is crowned.

Day 3 Seat Assignments

At the end of Day 2, here is how the chip counts look for the remaining 19 players.

Eric Hicks and Michael Trujillo got all the chips in on a flop of .

Hicks had the lead with his set of sevens but Trujillo had the nut flush draw and top two pair. The turn kept Hicks ahead, and the river meant he'd take the pot to double up and leave Trujillo with crumbs on the last hand of the evening.

Each table will play four more hands before bagging chips for the evening.

Michael Trujillo raised to 25,000 from the button, Eric Hicks called from the small blind, and Louie Calvo called from the big blind.

The flop came and action checked to Trujillo who bet 50,000. Hicks check-raised all in for about 100,000, Calvo folded, and Trujillo called to put Hicks at risk.

Trujillo had the lead with his pair of tens and while both players had flopped flush draws, Hicks' was better. The on the turn paired Hicks' jack to put him in the lead, the river changed nothing, and Hicks took the pot to double up.

Ricardo Furuguem raised to 25,000 from the cutoff and Chino Rheem called from the small blind.

The flop came and Rheem bet the pot for 60,000. Furuguem moved all in and Rheem called to put his opponent at risk.

Rheem had the equity edge with his wrap and flush draws, but still needed to improve against Furuguem's pair of threes in order to take the pot. The on the turn gave Rheem the nut straight and left his opponent in terrible shape. The on the river changed nothing and Rheem took the pot to eliminate Furuguem.

There was 158,000 in the middle and the board read and Gerhard Schleicher was heads-up with Alberto Fonseca. Schleicher bet the pot, 158,000 and Fonseca was in the tank. He counted his chips and sat in deep concentration for nearly five minutes. He finally announced all-in, having his opponent covered, and Schleicher put his remaining 30,000 chips in the pot.

The river landed the and Schleicher's set of aces earned him a crucial double up late in the evening.

Christian Harder got the last of his short stack in on a flop of against Louie Calvo, who had him covered by a wide margin.

Harder was in the lead with his two pair, but the on the turn gave Calvo the nut flush and left Harder drawing thin. The river changed nothing and Calvo took the pot to send Harder to the cage.

Eric Hicks got the last of his chips in against Roberto Romanello on a flop of . Hicks held for top two pair, which was in the lead at the time. The on the turn and on the river were no help to Romanello and Hicks took the pot to double up and leave Romanello short-stacked.
