Higgs Busts Another One

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Samuel Higgs
Samuel Higgs

Thu Huyen raised to 9,000 from under the gun and was called by three players, including Samuel Higgs in the small blind.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, and Higgs checked. The big blind bet 20,000, and Huyen called. The action was back on Higgs, who potted to 116,000. The big blind quickly folded, and Huyen called, leaving himself with just 10,000 behind. The turn was the {5-Clubs}, the two players got it all in, and the cards were flipped over.

Higgs had flopped top set with {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs}, but Huyen had plenty of outs with {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. The river brought the {3-Diamonds}, and Huyen was unable to hit any of his draws, sending the pot to Higgs.

Christian Harder called from the button, Sam Soverel called from the small blind, and Jason Wheeler checked his option.

The three players saw a flop of {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{7-Spades}, and action checked to Harder, who bet 6,000. Soverel check-raised to 20,000, Wheeler quickly folded, and Harder went into the tank. After nearly a minute, he folded, and Soverel took the pot to put his stack over the 300,000-chip mark.

Michael Trujillo Stacks Two at Once

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

The player under the gun opened with a raise to 9,000, Michael Trujillo was next to act and called, and the player in the big blind three-bet to 43,500. The original raiser called to put himself at risk with a stack of approximately 30,000 total, and Trujillo came along, as well.

The flop came {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, and the big blind and Trujillo quickly got the rest of their chips in. All three players tabled their hands.

Big blind: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Under the gun: {8-}{8-}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Trujillo: {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

Trujillo was way ahead with his set of nines, and both of his opponents needed help from the deck to survive. The {7-Hearts} turn and {3-Diamonds} river changed nothing, and Trujillo enthusiastically scooped the pot.

"How can I be this drunk and still beat these people?" he asked. "The only thing I can promise is that I'll be at the Rhino in a few hours."

Beylin Slides Out of a Chop

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Juha Helppi raised to 10,000 from under the gun, Konstantin Beylin called on the button, and Sebastian Ruiz called in the big blind.

The flop came {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, and Helppi bet 10,000. Beylin raised to 21,000, and Ruiz raised the pot, putting both players at risk. Helppi folded, but Beylin called for his remaining 77,000 chips, and the cards were turned over.

Beylin: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Ruiz: {a-}{k-}{8-}{4-}

Both players were sharing three of the same cards, and it looked as though the pot was going to be chopped. However, the {6-Hearts} fell on the turn, making Beylin a full house, and Ruiz was still sitting with trip eights. The river was the {7-Hearts}, and Beylin was able to win the pot and double through Ruiz.

With a substantial pot of about 65,000 already brewing and the completed board reading {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{10-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}, Sam Higgs bet 57,000 from the big blind into his lone opponent, Curtis Rystadt, who was under the gun.

Rystadt went into the tank for over a minute and ultimately called. Higgs instantly tabled {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for the second-nut boat, and Rystadt sent his cards into the muck.

Vinayak Falls to Romanello's Quads

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Raviinder Vinayak raised to 7,500 from the button, and Konstantin Beylin called from the small blind. Roberto Romanello was in the big blind and three-bet to 32,000. Vinayak moved all in for 43,000, and both players called.

The flop came {k-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, and Beylin checked to Romanello, who bet 24,000. Beylin folded, and the two remaining hands were tabled. Romanello showed {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs} and was way out in front of his opponent's {q-}{j-}{10-}{3-}.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds}, and the {k-Diamonds} on the river gave Romanello quad kings, sending his opponent out the doors.

With about 15,000 chips already in the pot and the board reading {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, Gionni DeMers checked from the small blind and Dylan Hortin bet 11,000 from the big blind. DeMers called.

The turn brought the {6-Clubs} and DeMers check-called a bet of 22,500 from Hortin.

The {8-Clubs} fell on the river and DeMers checked. Hortin bet again, 67,500 this time, and after brief consideration, DeMers called.

Hortin quickly tabled {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for the nut flush and DeMers sent his cards into the muck.
