Last Hand Before the Break

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

As Tom Koral was heading to the rail after being eliminated, Shawn Buchanan was in the tank debating whether to call for his remaining 13,000 chips.

The board read {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and five players were in the hand. The action had folded to Mark Gregorich on the button and he bet 1,200. One player called before Mike Ross raised to 45,000 and that sent Buchanan to the tank. Buchanan and Gregorich both called for their remaining chips, Ross had them both covered.

The Hands:
Ross: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Gregorich: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{j-Spades}{7-Spades}
Buchanan: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs}

The turn was the {8-Spades} and the river was the {q-Clubs} and both Gregorich and Ross chopped Buchanan's remaining chips.

Ray Henson Turns a Set Against Daniel Negreanu

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Daniel Negreanu limped under the gun and Ray Henson called from the button. By the time the betting on the {10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} was finished, only Henson and Negreanu remained. Henson bet 2,000 and Negreanu called.

The turn was the {q-Spades} and Henson bet 7,000. Negreanu called and the river came the {6-Spades}. Negreanu check-called a 15,000 bet and Henson turned over {q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. Negreanu showed aces and then mucked.

On a board of {7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, Tommy Chen had a bet in front of him and Nicholas Seiken had raised pot. Chen put him all in and Seiken got his 70,000 in with {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for trips, a flush draw and the nut low draw. Chen had {a-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{j-Spades} for aces and the nut low draw. The river was an {a-Hearts}, giving Chen better trips.

"Wow, you can chop it up" Seiken said, stalking away from the table briefly. Except, there wasn't a low, and he'd been scooped and busted.

"I guess he gets it all," Seiken said when he realized the full extent of the beat he'd taken. "You play PLO8 well."

"I put him on a three-two low draw," Chen said after Seiken had walked away. "What am I gonna do? Fold?"

Heads up on a flop of {K-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts}, Mike Terronez was in late position and Mike Matusow was on the button. Both players had 3,000 in front of them already and Terronez bet 8,000. Matusow called and the river was the {5-Spades}. Terronez bet the pot, and Matusow called all in for 17,300.

Terronez had {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for aces and fives and the nut low. Matusow had {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for missed clubs and the nut low, good for a quarter of the pot.
