Matt Stout Comes Out On Top

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Matt Stout
Matt Stout

The action was folded to Matt Stout in the cutoff who raised to 7,000 and was called by Thomas Boivin on the button and Barny Boatman in the big blind. The flop came {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Boatman checked to Stout who bet 10,500. Boivin called and Boatman raised to 23,000. Both Stout and Boivin stuck around to see the turn.

The turn card was the {7-Diamonds} and all three players checked to the {j-Clubs} river. Everyone checked again and Boatman showed {a-}{4-}, followed by Stout's {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Boivin mucked and Stout's two pairs with an eight kicker proved to be enough to take down the pot.

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Pierre Neuville
Pierre Neuville

Pierre Neuville raised to 6,500 from middle position and Dong Zhao called from the small blind.

The flop came {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Zhao checked. Neuville bet 6,500 and Zhao check-raised to 17,500. Neuville asked how much and then put his glasses on and stood up to look at the board. He sat back down and called.

The turn was the {8-Hearts} and Zhao checked this time. Neuville paused for a moment and bet 17,000. Zhao called.

The river was the {6-Clubs} and both players checked. Zhao tabled {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for two pairs, nines and eights, but Neuville tabled {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for an ace-high flush and scooped the pot.

No Sweat For Jeff Hakim

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Jeff Hakim moved all in for his last 35,000 and got action before the flop.

Hakim was at risk with {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}, in a coin flip situation against {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and Hakim flopped a full house, only worried about running quads. The turn was the {9-Hearts} and Hakim had his opponent drawing dead to the {10-Spades} on the river.

Julian Stuer Keepin' Busy

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Julian Stuer
Julian Stuer

The action was complete and the cards were being turned over as Chad Layne was all in for his remaining 40,000. Julian Stuer was his opponent who tabled {a-Spades}{k-Spades} against the {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} of Layne. The board ran out {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Stuer hit an ace to send Layne to the rail.

In the next hand, Stuer raised preflop and was called by the button and Matt Berkey in the big blind. The flop came {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Berkey led out for 15,000. Stuer called and the button folded, leading to the {k-Clubs} on the turn. Berkey checked this time and Stuer fired out a bet of 12,000. Berkey called and the {8-Spades} fell on the river. Both players checked and Berkey tabled {q-Spades}{j-Spades} to win the hand.
