Li Preserves Stack

Level 10 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

David Peters was all in from the big blind when we got to his table, on a completed board of {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Spades}. Yuan Li was trying to decide whether to call off his remaining 210,000 from early position. After a few minutes of thought, he decided on a fold.

The players at the table seemed to agree it was likely a good one.

Tilston Doubles on Rivered Two-Outer

Level 10 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

From the hijack, Doug Polk opened to 27,000 and Keith Tilston moved all in from the button for his final 205,000. The blinds folded and Polk immediately called.

Polk: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Tilston: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}

The {A-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop thrust Polk into the lead and, when the {4-Clubs} arrived on the turn, Tilston would need to spike one of the final two nines in the deck to stay alive.

The dealer burned and turned the {9-Diamonds} on the river to see Tilston strike gold with his two-outer to stay alive in this tournament with over 440,000 in chips as Polk dropped to 1.5 million.

Scott Seiver Doubles Through Niall Farrell

Level 10 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Scott Seiver raised to 35,000 from the cutoff, Niall Farrell three-bet from the small blind to about 150,000, Seiver four-bet shoved for 823,000, and Farrell called.

Seiver: {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Farrell: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}

The board came down {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs}, no help to Farrell, giving Seiver the double.

Meanwhile, Ari Engel recently busted and Lauren Roberts reentered.

Set Under Set Sets Juanda Back

Level 10 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

As we arrived, the turn was already out in a hand between John Juanda (cutoff) and Byron Kaverman (button). Kaverman had 60,000 in front of him and Juanda had check-raised to 235,000. Kaverman called in position.

The {5-Clubs} completed the board and Juanda pushed all in. Kaverman snap-called for 375,000 total and would soon give Juanda the bad news as Juanda's {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} turned out to be coolered as Kaverman rolled over {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}.

Mateos Busts Fast in Biggest Pot Yet

Level 10 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Dietrich Fast
Dietrich Fast

Adrian Mateos was on the button when we got to his table and facing a raise to 130,000 from small blind Dietrich Fast. Mateos came back with 310,000 and Fast called after some thought.

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Fast check-called 180,000. The turn was a {2-Diamonds} and both players checked. The river: {8-Clubs}. Fast bet 500,000. Mateos tanked a few minutes and then announced he was all in. Fast took his own turn in the tank, and Mateos called a clock after a couple of minutes. The tournament supervisor came over.

"I don't think it's been enough time," Fast said. "This is the biggest pot of the tournament."

The tournament supervisor evidently agreed to some extent, as he told Fast he was going to wait another minute and then put him on the clock. Fast took all the time he could, and as the tournament supervisor was about to hit zero, he dropped in calling chips.

Mateos turned over {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}. Fast mucked what the dealer revealed to be {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Mateos had just over 880,000, and Fast was covered by about 10,000, so gathered his belongings to exit.
