The Bubble Has Burst

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

In the first two rounds of hand-for-hand play, no players were in danger of being the bubble person, as no all-ins were called. In the third round however, there were three all-in-and-calls.

Table #72:

A player in middle position called the all-in of the player in the big blind.

Middle position: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Big blind: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}

The board ran out {Q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, and the player in the big blind survived the all-in.

Table #55:

The board read {K-Hearts}{7-Spades}{Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, and the player in the small blind was all in. He was called by the players in the big blind and the under-the-gun position. He showed a pair of queens in his hand for a set of queens, and that was good enough to triple up.

Table #62:

The board read {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, and the Joshua Kays, under the gun, had the player on the button at risk.

Joshua Kays: {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Under the gun: {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The turn was the {K-Diamonds}, and the {8-Clubs} on the river completed the board. Kays hit his flush on the river to eliminate the other player, and the bubble has burst.

All players are now guaranteed at least a minimum cash of $1,334.

Joshua Kays Loses a Hand

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

After having burst the bubble earlier today, Joshua Kays has been doing well but just lost a hand against Brad Alberinck.

Alberinck shoved all in from the cutoff, and Kays called from the button.

Joshua Kays: {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Brad Alberinck: {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

The board ran out {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} — no danger for Alberinck, and he doubled up.

Brandon Ageloff Eliminated

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Brandon Ageloff has just been eliminated, but he was kind enough to tell us about a big pot he lost earlier.

The player in the cutoff raised to 6,000 during the 1,500/3,000 blind level. Ageloff, sitting on the button, three-bet to 12,500. His opponent four-bet to 27,000, and Ageloff decided to five-bet shove all in. Ageloff still had about 128,000, and the other player had about 88,000. His opponent called.

"I was new to the table, and the previous five or six hands, he kept raising stuff," Ageloff reasoned.

Brandon Ageloff: {6-Spades}{2-Spades}
Cutoff: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}

The flop was {J-}{6-}{8-} with one spade. The turn brought the {Q-Spades}, and the river was a blank.

"After that, I lost the rest. I'm going for some food now and play another tournament. If I don't make Day 2, I'll be back tomorrow morning," Ageloff said before saying goodbye to a friend and leaving.
