Lucky 777 for Racener

Level 7 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
John Racener
John Racener

Stud Hi-Lo

John Racener had low cards on board and a bet in front of him and Phil Galfond was considering calling. The online legend had three hearts and three low cards, so his board wasn't too shabby either.

Racener: {x-}{x-}/{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades}/{x-}
Galfond: {x-}{x-}/{5-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{6-Clubs}/{x-}

Galfond put in a call and Racener showed {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades} in the hole for quads. Galfond mucked.

George Departs Toward the End of the First Level

Level 7 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Chris George
Chris George

Razz

Chris George had less than one big bet behind coming to another razz hand. He had the {10-Hearts} face up, looking at lower cards around the table. "Oof," George said when he spotted the {10-Diamonds} in front of Benny Glaser, dodging the bring-in.

Anyway, George's chips went in on third street as he pushed them in over Scott Seiver's complete. Nobody else joined the contest.

George: {4-}{2-} / {10-}{K-}{2-}{6-} / {3-}
Seiver: {A-}{7-} / {A-}{8-}{6-}{A-} / {3-}

Seiver peeled his river card, exposing a three for an eighty-seven low. "I'm drawing dead, right?" George noticed before looking at his remaining hole card, which was also a three.

"You're Gonna Get the Max Out of Me Every Time"

Level 7 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

Phil Hellmuth bet a board of {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades} from the big blind against Michael Mizrachi, and "The Grinder" raised. Hellmuth made it three bets and Mizrachi called. He called a river bet as well after the {7-Hearts} hit, and Hellmuch announced {q-}{10-}. Mizrachi flipped {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} into the middle and took the pot.

"You're gonna get the max out of me every time," Hellmuth said with a chuckle.

Aaron Katz Rivers a Straight

Level 7 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

Under the gun, Aaron Katz raised and received a call from his neighbor, Johnny Chan. All other players folded, leaving Katz and Chan to fight in a heads-up pot.

Katz checked on the {10-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{J-Spades} flop and Chan took the betting lead, earning a call from Katz.

The turn {5-Clubs} saw Katz lead out to the pot and Chan matched his bet.

Katz fired one more time on the {Q-Spades} river and Chan called again only to look at Katz' {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a big draw that had improved into a straight on the river.

Chan showed his {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}, but the pot went Katz' way.

Glantz Adds Some in Razz

Level 7 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Razz

Matt Glantz is one of the shorter stacks in the field. However, Glantz recently raked in a pot to climb to slightly higher ground.

Glantz bet on sixth street with three wheel cards on his board. Soulier called and then paid Glantz' river bet as well.

Soulier: {X-}{X-} / {9-}{10-}{4-}{Q-} / {X-}
Glantz: {X-}{X-} / {J-}{4-}{3-}{2-} / {X-}

Glantz showed {8-}{7-}{6-} for an eighty-seven and picked up the pot as Soulier couldn't make anything better than a nine.

Taylor Survives

Level 7 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

We came upon the aftermath of a three-way pot that saw Esther Taylor show down {a-}{k-}{10-}{2-}, good for a Broadway straight with {q-}{j-}{10-} on the board. Two other players were forced to show down inferior hands. Ryan Miller had {a-}{j-}{10-}{3-} and Bruno Fitoussi mucked {a-}{a-}{j-}{6-} in disgust, giving Taylor the pot.

Hang Pays Off Ashton

Matthew Ashton
Matthew Ashton

No-Limit Hold'em

Tommy Hang bet 9,000 from middle position on a board of {3-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Matthew Ashton called from the button and a third player folded in the blinds. On the {9-Hearts} river, Hang checked. Ashton thought for over a minute and then bet 27,000. Hang took his own thinking time but eventually called.

Ashton showed {k-Hearts}{q-Spades} for kings with a queen kicker and took it down.

Kenney Doesn't Have a Diamond; Still Wins

Level 7 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Stud

Bryn Kenney led out on fifth street with three diamond cards out, but Minh Ly wasn't scared of Kenney's board, calling.

Ly called another bet on sixth where Kenney hit yet another diamond, and eventually called Kenney's final bet on the river, as well.

Ly: {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} / {3-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Kenney: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} / {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Kenney couldn't connect to his suited board, but his queens were still good enough to beat Ly's jacks.
