A Slight Stumble for Matt Affleck

Level 1 : 75/150, 0 ante

With a pot of about 3,000 already brewing and the completed board reading {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, Matt Affleck bet 2,000 from the hijack and his opponent on the button briefly went into the tank. She ultimately called and Affleck somewhat reluctantly tabled {K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a pair of eights. While neither player held a heart for a flush, the button flipped over {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for a flopped set of deuces and it was still good enough to win the pot.

Early Pot for Thomas

Level 1 : 75/150, 0 ante

Both Russell Thomas and his lone opponent in the hand committed 1,100 preflop before the dealer put out a flop of {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. Thomas checked to his opponent, who led out for 1,300. Thomas thought for about 20 seconds before raising it up to 5,200, and his opponent quickly folded.

Despite winning that pot, Thomas is down just a bit in the middle of this first level.

Negreanu Wins Back-to-Back Pots

Level 1 : 75/150, 0 ante

Jason Mercier opened to 350 with {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and got called by Daniel Negreanu holding {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, and two other players at the feature table.

The flop was {10-Spades}{4-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and when the first two players to act checked, Mercier did as well, and all of them folded to Negreanu's bet of 700.

The very next hand, a player in early position opened to 450 with {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, Negreanu flatted with {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}, and two other players in the hand called as well.

The original aggressor continued on the ten-high flop with a bet of 1,200 and Negreanu and one other player called. A five on the turn paired the board and Negreanu won with a bet of 2,100.
