Salter Runs Out of Chips

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

After two limps, Jack Salter moved all in for his last 21,000 from the cutoff. Fellow Brit Matt Davenport called from the button and the players in the blinds and the limpers got out of the way.

Salter showed {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Davenport flipped over {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. By the time the turn had come, there were four hearts on the board and that left Salter drawing dead.

Zullo Takes One

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

With about 12,000 chips already in the middle and the board reading {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, Mark Zullo was on the button and heads up against the big blind, who checked. Zullo bet 9,000 and his opponent called.

The river brought the {6-Hearts} and the big blind checked. Zullo bet again, 16,000 this time, sending his opponent into the tank. Ultimately, he called and Zullo tabled {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for Broadway. The big blind mucked and Zullo took the pot.

Tyler Patterson's Kings Hold Up

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

A player in early position raised to 3,000, the next player to act called, Tyler Patterson three-bet to 9,700 from middle position, the initial raiser four-bet to 24,000, the caller in between folded, Patterson five-bet jammed for 46,700, and the opener called.

Patterson tabled {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}, leading his opponent's {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}.

The board came down {Q-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{8-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}, safe for Patterson to double up.

Craft Continues to Rise

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Facing a raise from late position to 3,000, Mickey Craft defended his big blind to see a {4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{A-Hearts} flop.

Craft checked and his opponent continued for 4,000. Craft called and then checked the {8-Spades} on the turn.

Again Craft's opponent fired out a bet, this time amounting to 6,000, and with it came another call from Craft.

The river landed the {J-Diamonds} and both players checked.

Craft tabled his {A-Spades}{7-Hearts} and his opponent flashed what appeared to be pocket kings before folding.

Craft has now furthered his lead as his chip stack sits around 541,000.

Erick Lindgren Slips

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Picking up the action after the river of a {Q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{9-Spades} board with about 26,000 in the pot, a player in early position bet 12,000. Erik Lindgren tanked for a little while before he called.

The early-position player showed {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} for a pair of kings, Lindgren shook his head for about 10 seconds before he mucked, and his opponent won the pot.

Talia Silberstein Gets Paid With Aces

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

With about 15,000 in the pot already on a board reading {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, the player in the hijack checked. Talia Silberstein was on the button and moved all in for her last 23,100. Her opponent tanked for about a minute and eventually called.

Silberstein tabled {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}, at risk against {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. The turn was the {7-Hearts} and her opponent picked up more outs with an open-ended straight draw.

The river was the biggest brick of all — the {2-Clubs}. Silberstein let out a sigh of relief and rapped the table in excitement as the dealer shipped her the pot.

Mickey Craft the First to 500,000

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Mickey Craft
Mickey Craft

After winning a huge pot earlier with aces in a three-way all in, Mickey Craft has become the chip leader of the tournament after a strong last level and a stronger start to this level, becoming the first player to breach 500,000 chips.

In a recent hand, Craft opened with a raise to 3,600 from early position. He was called by a player in the cutoff as well as the small blind and the three took to a flop.

The board came {4-Spades}{10-Clubs}{J-Spades} and action checked to the cutoff who bet 7,000. Both the small blind and Craft called. On the {Q-Spades} turn, all three players checked.

The river was the {6-Clubs} and the small blind checked to Craft. Craft bet 17,200. The cutoff folded quickly. The small blind tanked for about a minute and a half before calling Craft's bet. Craft showed {3-Spades}{5-Spades} for a turned flush and that was enough to earn him the big pot and to push him over 500,000 chips.
