Cherish Andrews' Stack Almost Falls Over

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Cherish Andrews
Cherish Andrews

Cherish Andrews is one of the biggest stacks in the Day 2b field. She is well over 300,000 and added a bit more over the last few hands.

After an under-the-gun raise to 2,500 and a call, Andrews three-bet from the small blind, making it 8,500. Both her opponents folded.

A few hands later, Andrews was the first to enter the pot. She reached to the top of her chip stack and it almost fell over from being stacked more than 50 chips high. She raised to 2,200 and her opponents folded.

So far Andrews has 16 WSOP cashes, totaling $427,381 in earnings. She has also earned about $100,000 more in non-WSOP tournaments.

Sixes for Gyeongbyeong Lee

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Following a raise from the under-the-gun player to 2,000, both Brent Roberts and Gyeongbyeong Lee called in the blinds.

The flop came {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Roberts checked to Lee who bet 3,000. The original raiser folded, but Roberts called as the turn landed the {K-Spades}.

Roberts checked, Lee bet 8,000, and Roberts called as the dealer delivered the {2-Diamonds} on the river.

Both players checked and Roberts announced ace high and tabled his {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. Lee tabled his {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and was given the pot to move to over 280,000 in chips.

Andrew Lichtenberger Takes One Out

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Andrew Lichtenberger raised to 2,500 from middle position, the player in the small blind three-bet shoved for about 19,000, and Lichtenberger called with {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}, racing with his opponent's {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}.

The board came down {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, giving Lichtenberger aces and kings to eliminate his opponent.

Adrian Mateos Chipping Up

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Picking up the action after the river of a {Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts} board with about 32,000 in the pot, Adrian Mateos bet 27,700 from the hijack. His opponent in the cutoff called, but mucked when Mateos tabled {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} for a pair of queens.

Big Slick = Big Pot for Chris George

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Chris George from Day 1
Chris George from Day 1

Chris George opened with a raise to 3,000 from under the gun. The player to his immediate left reraised, making it 7,500 to play. Action folded all the way back around to George who quickly put in a four-bet to 23,000. The other player called.

The flop came down {K-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and George checked over to his opponent who put out a bet of 21,000. George called and the two saw a turn of the {8-Diamonds} where both checked.

George and his opponent both checked again on the {K-Clubs} river. George showed {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and that was good for him to take down the pot as his opponent mucked.

With that pot, George moved above the 200,000-chip mark.

Bryan Piccioli
Bryan Piccioli

Jose Ortiz limped in from early position and Gyeongbyeong Lee raised to 3,500. A player called next to act in the hijack before Bryan Piccioli three-bet to 14,000 from the cutoff.

The blinds and Ortiz folded, as did Lee, before the player in the middle called and the dealer spread a {Q-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop.

Piccioli continued for 7,500 and his opponent check-called before both players checked the {5-Hearts} on the turn.

The river landed the {A-Clubs}, and after his opponent checked, Piccioli bet 26,500.

Piccioli's opponent mucked, and the WSOP Asia-Pacific bracelet winner climbed to 184,000 in chips.

Nguyen Drops Even More; Queens for Schneider

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

After a raise to 2,300, Pierre Merlin three-bet to 6,300 and Dylan Nguyen called in the cutoff, as did Mile Schneider in the small blind. The flop came {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and all four players checked. Schneider bet the {8-Hearts} turn for 11,000, which only the initial raiser called. Both remaining players then checked down the {9-Hearts} and Schneider turned over {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades} to scoop the pot.

Zullo Doubles Up

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With about 18,000 already in the middle and the board reading {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, Mark Zullo checked from the small blind, the big blind checked, and the player under the gun bet 13,000. Zullo check-raised all in for 64,600 and the big blind quickly folded. The under-the-gun player asked for Zullo's stack to be counted down and then called to put him at risk.

Zullo: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Opponent: {5-Spades}{3-Spades}

Zullo's opponent was ahead with two pair, but Zullo had a diamond flush draw in addition to his pair of tens, giving him a fair amount of equity heading to the river. It was the {10-Clubs} which gave him trips to take the pot and double up.
