Delich Gets Some Folds

Level 6 : 300/600, 100 ante

John Delich raised to 1,500 from the button and Jonathan Abdellatif and Ze Chen in the blinds both called.

They all checked when the {2-Spades}{Q-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop came.

The turn brought them the {3-Spades}, Abdellatif bet 3,1000 and both Chen and Delich called.

The {A-Hearts} on the river completed the board, both Abdellatif and Chen check-folded on the 5,200 bet of Delich and Delich took the pot.

Justin Moodley Hits Rail Early

Level 6 : 300/600, 100 ante

It is a great feeling to make Day 2 of the Main Event but it is also a terrible feeling anytime you bust. Justin Moodley managed to condense those feelings as he has just feelings as he has just been eliminated.

Moodley has started as the short stack on his table, had gotten a bit shorter and was then all in with {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Charles Clark called him with {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}.

The board ran out {6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{5-Spades}{6-Spades}.

No good for Moodley and his Main Event came to an end.

Dominik Nitsche
Dominik Nitsche

Alex Greenblatt raised to 1,500 in middle position and was called by Dominik Nitsche on the button. The flop came {10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Greenblatt continued for 2,800. Nitsche called and the turn was the {J-Clubs}. Greenblatt checked and this time, Nitsche bet 3,400. Greenblatt called.

The river was the {3-Hearts} and Greenblatt checked again. Nitsche thought for several seconds and then moved his remaining 20,000 chips into the middle. Greenblatt thought it over and folded, and the pot went to Nitsche.

Koon Gets Big River Value

Level 6 : 300/600, 100 ante

On a completed board of {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{10-Spades}, Jason Koon bet 12,500, just a bit under the size of the pot. Nikesh Parmar thought about a minute and called, and Koon flipped over {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a flopped flush. Parmar showed {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for the nut straight, and the dealer turned it back over and shipped Koon the pot.

Zhou Doubles Through Steinberg

Level 6 : 300/600, 100 ante

We found Zu Zhou in the small blind with what may have been a four-bet in front of him, facing a reraise from Jesse Steinberg on the button. Zhou jammed all in after thinking awhile, for 32,200. Steinberg called with {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} and it was off to the races with Zhou holding {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}.

The board ran out {5-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{q-Spades}{3-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}, giving Zhou queens full for a double.

"Cooler" for Kassouf

Level 6 : 300/600, 100 ante

A raise from early position was called by Marcelo Asensio, James Chen in the small blind, and William Kassouf in the big blind, making a four-way pot going to the flop.

"Big pot coming," Kassouf said.

Action checked around on the {2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop.

"Cooler flop," Kassouf said.

On the {10-Spades} turn, Chen checked to Kassouf.

"I'm gonna figure out where I'm at," Kassouf said. He put out a bet of 4,000. Only Asensio called.

On the {4-Clubs} river, it looked as if Kassouf might bet again. He grabbed a T5,000 chip, then decided to check. "Let's just keep it friendly," he said. "I checked.

Asensio then checked behind and showed {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

"Wow!" Kassouf said. "What a cooler!" He showed {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. "It could've got in there on the turn," Kassouf continued. "A little check, raise, jam, raise, all in."

The pot was pushed to Asensio and Kassouf continued ranting.

Jonathan Roy Slips

Level 6 : 300/600, 100 ante

Following the river of a {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} board with about 11,000 in the pot, the player in the big blind bet 4,600 and Jonathan Roy called from under the gun.

The player in the big blind showed {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for kings and tens, Roy mucked, and his opponent collected the pot.

Alex Keating is Just Getting Warmed Up

Level 6 : 300/600, 100 ante
Alex Keating
Alex Keating

One of the characters from last year's Main Event was Alex Keating. Keating is easily identifiable with his long beard and his unorthodox approach to sitting — he is often crouched on his chair like a catcher.

Keating didn't take long to start chatting up Maxime Heroux, who he refers to as Max.

On this hand, a player opened to 1,500 and Heroux made it 3,700. Keating was in the small blind.

"How much?" he said very deliberately.

Then he raised to 15,000. The original raiser folded and Heroux took a moment before folding as well.

"Right in your face Max," Keating said tossing the {k-Diamonds} face up across the table ala Gambit.

"How did that feel Max?"

The table broke out in laughter when Heroux responded with only a blank look.
