Kevin Schulz Sends One Home

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Kevin Schulz raised under the gun, and the big blind called.

The flop was {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs}, and the big blind check-called a continuation bet from Schulz. On the {4-Hearts} turn, the big blind checked again, and Schulz bet 18,000. His opponent called again, and they saw the {8-Clubs} river. The big blind checked once more, and Schultz put out 45,000, enough to put his opponent to a decision for his remaining stack of 32,500. His opponent went into the tank, and after more than three minutes, he called.

Schulz tabled {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}, and his opponent showed {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for a worse pair before making his exit.

To Show or Not to Show

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Mickey Craft pushed against an opponent and showed quads to rake in the pot and push his stack further before adding, "Okay, this is the last time I show."

Soon after, there was a limp, and Craft raised to 9,000. Daniel Cooke moved all in, and the limper folded, as did Craft, showing {4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. He remains among the biggest stacks, though.

The flop fell {2-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}, and Cada checked to his opponent, who bet 5,000. Cada released his hand and dropped to 85,100 in chips.

Vanderloo mucked and dropped to 30,000 in the process.

Alex Conklin's Quest to be the Youngest Main Event Winner

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Alex Conklin
Alex Conklin

Alex Conklin entered the Main Event on Day 1b, which was his 21st birthday.

He ended the day with a healthy 83,500 in chips and battled it out on Day 2ab. At the end of that day, he carried forward a stack worth 156,800 chips and has more than doubled that here on Day 3.

Conklin is currently the youngest player in the Main Event and could take the title of youngest Main Event champion from Joe Cada after his win in 2009. Peter Eastgate held the title in 2008, but that was short-lived.

Conklin sits with 410,000 in just the second level of the day.
