Croc Snaps Up Chips From Kumar

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Billy Argyros
Billy Argyros

With the community cards spread {8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{9-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and over 135,000 already in the pot, big blind Billy 'the croc' Argyros had checked the action over to Anish Kumar (cutoff) who had fired out a sizable 104,000 bet and the croc was deep in thought.

Argyros began to deconstruct the hand: "So you raised pre-flop to 25k, bet the flop for 25k, bet 30k on the turn... You're either really strong or you haven't got anything. Give me a second guys, I've just got to hit the tank."

After some time mulling it over Argyros counted out a calling stack.

"I won't have much left if I call and I'm wrong," he mused, before faking the call with a big chip lift. Kumar remained still as a statue.

"Oh, you're good, son, you didn't even flinch," chuckled Argyros.

"Ok, I call," he said, finally slamming down the call and showing {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

Kumar tapped the table and mucked.

"Nice had sir," said Kumar as the pot was shipped Argyros' way and he climbed to just over 300,000 while Kumar dropped to 170,000.

Vincent Huang
Vincent Huang

Vincent Huang moved all in for 86,000 from under the gun and watched as the action folded around to Moustafa Haidar in the big blind.

Haidar asked for a count, then called, before both players tabled their cards.

Haidar: {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Huang: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}

"So live," joked Huang, once the cards were tabled.

"Time for payback," replied Haidar, cheekily.

The board ran out {2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, improving Haidar to two pair, resulting in the demise of Huang.

Kassam Rails Robertson

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Rehamn Kassam raised from the button and Peter Robertson three-bet all-in from the big blind, with Kassam making the call to put Robertson at risk.

Peter Robertson: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Rehman Kassam: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

While Robertson held the best hand pre-flop, the {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Clubs} runout favoured Kassam, who stacked up to 490,000 after the hand, while Robertson said his goodbyes to the table and headed for the cage to collect the AU$5,148 on offer for his 74th place finish.

Robertson Doubles Through Pappas

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Peter Robertson and Steve Pappas
Peter Robertson and Steve Pappas

Peter Robertson moved all in for 95,000 from the hijack and was matched by Steve Pappas in the cutoff.

Robertson: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}
Pappas: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Robertson was at risk with the inferior kicker until the flop came {3-Spades}{9-Spades}{j-Clubs} giving him top pair and the nut flush draw.

Pappas was drawing dead after the {10-Spades} dropped on the turn giving Robertson the flush.

The meaningless {4-Clubs} completed the board and Robertson doubled up.

Wan Triples in Train Wreck

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

A train wreck of a hand saw Vincent Wan earn a triple up after moving all-in from under-the-gun for 192,000 with neighbour Xun Sun re-shoving immediately.

Action folded around to big blind Dejan Boskovic, who thought it over for a few seconds before slamming down the call also and all three players tabled their hands.

Vincent Wan: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Xun Sun: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Dejan Boskovic: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Wan was the at-risk player and got one of the best flops he could hope for, coming down {9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. The {j-Hearts} turn was red but not the diamond needed and while the river was a black card it was the {k-Clubs} to see Wan triple to 591,000, Sun drop to 217,000 and Boskovic drop to 97,000
