Phan Still Falling

John Phan opened for a 2,000 raise and James Akenhead flat-called. The flop came down {9-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {2-Spades} and Akenhead check-called a 2,700 bet from Phan. The turn fell the {A-Hearts}. Akenhead checked, Phan bet 4,000 and Akenhead raised to 10,000 sending Phan into a very long think, which concluded in a disgusted fold. Phan's stack is down to 17,000 at present.

Could it be a lack of sleep that's catching up with Phan? The two-time bracelet winner impulsively jumped on a flight to London only last night, landing in the U.K. at ten this morning-- barely enough time to check into his hotel and sprint over to the Empire.

For more on this story, check out the interview he did with our own Gloria Balding earlier today.
