Scott Fischman has the button in Seat 8. Action folds around the table to Ivan Demidov who raises to 31,000. Stanislav Alekhin then raises to 81,000 from the small blind and Robin Keston folds from the big. The action then returns to Demidov, who flashes the {A-Diamonds}

before tossing the cards back to the dealer.

After Demidov mucked, Alekhin turned over a pocket pair of queens for the whole table to see and the first Russian v. Russian 'battle' ended without bloodshed.

. Juanda bets 110,000. Looking a bit puzzled at the small bet relative to the size of the pot, Demidov tanked for a while before calling.

Ivan Demidov has the button in Seat 6. Stanislav Alekhin opens with a raise to ~32,000 from under the gun and Scott Fischman calls from the big blind.

Both players check down a {K-Hearts}

board to the river, at which point Fischman bets 30,000. Alekhin makes the call and Fischman hesitates before turning over a pocket pair of fives. Much to Fischman's surprise, Alekhin mucks and Scott takes down the pot.

"That leaves threes and fours," joked Tournament Director Jack Effel.

"Value!" sung Fischman as he raked in his new chips.

John Juanda has the button in Seat 5. Scott Fischman opens for 30,000, Bengt Sonnert calls, Juanda calls, Ivan Demidov calls from the small blind, and Toni Hiltunen calls from the big blind. The flop is {J-Diamonds}

. The action is checked to Fischman who bets 12,000, saying "Let's take a stab at it." Bengt Sonnert answers that with a raise to 100,000. Juanda folds, and Demidov reraises to 350,000. Hiltunen and Fischman quickly muck, and Sonnert begins counting down his stack. He eventually mucks and Demidov flashes a {J-?}

as he rakes in the pot.

Bengt Sonnert has the button in Seat 4. Action folds to Stanislav Alekhin in middle position who makes it 35,000 to go. Sonnert makes the only call and sees the flop come {5-Diamonds}

Alekhin then makes a continuation bet of 56,000, which was enough for Sonnert, who laid down his hand, sending the pot to the man Phil Hellmuth dubbed, 'The Russian.'

With that massive pot between Ivan Demidov and John Juanda, Demidov took the chip lead with approximately 1,850,000. Juanda's stack was slashed in half and he's left hovering around the 700,000 mark.
