Call Me Crazy

Dario Alioto just made one helluva call on the river in a hand against Fraser Bellamy and Alessio Isaia.

Three-handed on the turn, with the board showing {Q-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {6-Spades}, Alioto fired an 1,800 bet and was called by Bellamy; Isaia let go of his hand.

The river brought the {A-Hearts} and Alioto checked to Bellamy who dove deep into the tank and eventually surfaced with a 6,000 bet into the ~6,000 pot. Without hesitation, Alioto made the call and Bellamy threw his cards into the muck just as fast, saying, "Good call."

Alioto turned over a pocket pair of threes and smugly raked in the pot.

"Good try," Alioto remarked.

"Yeah, good call," Bellamy said again.

Rousso at 25k

Philippe Dauteuil made it 700 to go before the flop and was called by both Vanessa Rousso (cutoff) and Gordon Vayo (button).

The flop came {5-Clubs} {8-Spades} {K-Hearts} and Dauteuil passed the first option to Rousso who fired a bet of 1,500. Vayo quickly folded and Dauteuil made the call.

Both remaining players then checked the {7-Diamonds} on the turn and saw the {3-Hearts} fall on the river.

Dauteuil then check-called one more bet from Rousso -- this one 2,000 -- and Rousso announced, "Kings with a queen," as she tabled the {K-Spades} {Q-Spades}. Her opponent flashed {K-?} {J-?} before tossing his cards into the muck and Rousso moved to 25,000 in chips with the win.

Mouth, Say 'AAh'

Mike Matusow just won a tidy pot from Alan Ellis holding the {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades} , but it took quite a while to pan out that way...

On the turn, with the board {2-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {3-Spades} Ellis checked and Matusow bet 3,600. There followed the longest dwell of the day, if not the Series, as Ellis contemplated (he had about 18,000 at this point). He sat still apart from his hands, which did that not-quite-a-trick where you just pick up and drop the first few chips of a stack over and over again. Eventually he made the call.

The river brought the {5-Diamonds} and a bet of 6,500 when Ellis checked to Matusow once more. This time he called with unexpected alacrity, only to instantly muck when he caught a glimpse of the Mouth's aces.

How Are You, Baby?

Scotty Nguyen has entered the building, wandering straight over to Layne Flack's table with a bunch of handshakes for all and a "How Are You, Baby?" also for all. Greeting Erica Schoenberg, he gets the story of how she's got Benyamine's old seat.

"The husband goes out, the wife plays!" he remarked, pretty much hitting the nail on the head, before darting off like his own little whirlwind. Expect more of the same tomorrow, when he's down to play.

Game On

The players have returned from break and the cards are in the air. At the end of this level the players will vacate the playing area and embark on their two-hour dinner break.

Waiting in the Break

The break has just begun and Bruno Fitoussi has thrown out 4,000 on a {7-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} board. Denes Kalo is thinking, and taking his time, which doesn't matter as Bruno says, "Take as long as you need." Kalo eventually makes the call and Bruno flips {K-Clubs} {7-Clubs}. Kalo shows {A-Clubs} {A-Hearts} and throws it into the muck.

Ayaz Manji Doubles Up

A comparatively short-stacked Ayaz Manji just doubled through to 16,000 courtesy of Aliaksandr Dzianisau. Big blind Manji called a preflop raise, and both players then checked the {9-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} flop. The turn brought the {Q-Hearts} , and a check-raise from Manji of the 500 Dzianisau tossed out there to 2,500. Flat call.

The river: {5-Clubs} Manji now pushed all in for his remaining 4,725, and as the current break began, everyone's attention wandered from the table with the exception of Dzianisau who eventually made the call. He mucked, though, on seeing the {A-Spades} {9-Diamonds} - two pair- in his relieved opponent's hand.
