Fierro Implodes!

Nicolas Fierro - even the best make some mistakes
Nicolas Fierro - even the best make some mistakes

Nicolas Fierro has a look of a man who knows he has just screwed up.

It all started when the action folded to Fierro in the small blind and he raised to 1,900. Chris McClung was watching avidly from the big blind and he three-bet to 4,800. Back to Fierro and he made the call and the two of them shared a flop of {10-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {3-Hearts}. Fierro checked to McClung and he bet 5,500 and Fierro made a pretty quick call. The turn was the {A-Hearts} and Fierro once again checked. McClung bet 10,700 and Fierro fiddled with his chips for a few minutes before he announced he was all-in and McClung called instantly.

Showdown

McClung{A-Clubs} {A-Spades}
Fierro{3-Clubs} {2-Clubs}

Fierro looked as if he wanted the ground to swallow him up.

The river was irrelevant and the look on Fierro's face said it all, "Why oh why oh why did I just do that?"

Nicolas Fierro Eliminated

We reported earlier how Nicolas Fierro lost most of his stack and now he has just lost the rest of it. Tom Bedell opened up the action with a raise and Nicolas Fierro moved all-in and Bedell called.

Showdown

Bedell{K-} {K-}
Fierro{A-} {J-}

We don't have the details of the board but we do know it held no salvation for Fierro.

No WSOPE bracelt for Sami Kelopuro this year.

We sauntered over to table 12 because it looked like a pretty decent table to see some action.

Charter's Aces Cracked

Sam Chartier
Sam Chartier

From middle position, Sam Chartier raised to 2,000. Action then folded to Sergey Tikhonov on the button and he called. Everyone else folded and the flop came down {J-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Chartier fired a continuation bet of 2,500. Tikhonov raised to 5,000. Chartier thought for a minute and then reraised to 12,300. Tikhonov moved all in, having Charter covered. Chartier quickly called.

Chartier turned over the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} and was all in for about 40,000 in chips. on the flop. Tikhonov held the {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for an open-ended straight draw.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} to pair up Tikhonov, but Chartier was still in front. The river put him in last place though when the {8-Spades} fell and gave Tikhonov a straight to the queen. Chartier sent over the chips and wished the table good luck before departing the tournament area.
