Savinelli Doubles with Nines

Maria Ho raised from early position and made it 2,500 to go. Carlo Savinelli and Ion Pavel called from middle position, Gabriel Nassif called from the cutoff and then the player in the small blind squeezed to 12,500. Action folded back to Savinelli and he back-raised all in for 36,700. Everyone folded and the small blind called.

Savinelli: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Small blind: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} and Savinelli doubled up.

Palevic Now Eats Into The Cody Stack

Rifat Palevic had pretty much picked on everyone at his table with the exception of Jake Cody. That was until a few moments ago when the pair clashed. We only caught the end of the hand so apologies for the rather sketchy information.

Four players saw a flop with Jake Cody holding position in the hand. The flop was {4-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} and Cody made a c-bet and only Palevic called. The turn was the {J-Clubs} and again Palevic took the check-call line. On the river the {10-Hearts} brought in the flush and Palevic check-called a 27,500 Cody bet.

Showdown

Palevic{Q-Hearts} {8-Hearts}
Cody{2-Diamonds} {2-Clubs}

So Palevic won the hand and although we didn't see the pre-flop, flop and turn bets we know the pot was over 100,000.

Karr Straightens Ho

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

McLean Karr and Maria Ho both checked the board of {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} before the {4-Hearts} landed on the river. Karr fired 9,900 and Ho quickly tossed in the call.

Karr tabled the {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a straight to the eight and Ho mucked her hand.

Wowsers!

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Rifat Palevic on the losing end of this massive pot
Rifat Palevic on the losing end of this massive pot

Chip leader Rifat Palevic just lost a massive hand into the break to Vadim Ifergan. When we arrived at the table, Palevic had checked the {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop to Ifergan and he bet 20,000. Palevic check-raised a huge, tall stack of gray T5,000 chips to set Ifergan all in. Ifergan tanked and tanked. He thought a few minutes into the break and then finally made the call.

"Wow, you called?" said Palevic and then turned over his hand to reveal the {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. Ifergan showed the {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for top pair, top kicker, but who have to dodge the turn and river in order to double up. He was all in on the flop for 153,300 in chips and this pot was worth well over 300,000.

The turn brought the {J-Diamonds} and Ifergan was pleading with the dealer to keep the river clean. The dealer dealt the {2-Spades} on the river and won the pot for Ifergan. He celebrated a little bit before counting out his stack for the dealer to verify. All Palevic could say was, "Wow, you call? You really called?"

Ifergan responded with, "I have nothing to lose in this tournament and I don't believe you. I bought into this tournament for $500 and I have nothing to lose, this is my first big buy-in live tournament and I have nothing to lose."

"Great call, great call," said Palevic as he sent over the chips. "Wow... wow."

Palevic saw his stack drop to 415,000. He's still in the lead, but suffered a massive blow. Ifergan moved to about 350,000.
